MOD500 Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 I take it these have injection not good old fashioned carb?Single point. Tamworthbay 1
MOD500 Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 That's actually quite tempting in a way. And you're local. I swear I've seen this, or it's double, parked in Tesco Basingstoke on more than one occasion.Never been to Tesco amazingstoke. If I'd known about this last year I might have bought the triplet just for shits and giggles.
Marm Toastsmith Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Is it a rain type leak or possibly heater matrix? Love this, very tempting... ticks almost all of the boxes that when they get ticked I end up buying a car by mistake.
sierraman Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Rust on the springs! Fuck that m8 scrap it. No seriously, the advisories are to cover the garages arse. It’s a assessment of what might present a possible problem in the future not a personal critique. Ohdearme 1

Eddie Honda Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Mr Honda. If I wanted to know the towing weight of any of my cars I would probably ask you! Furry muff. I don't get to see the VIN plate, but I think it's 1200kg/600kg now I've Googled.
MOD500 Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 Furry muff. I don't get to see the VIN plate, but I think it's 1200kg/600kg now I've Googled.Ha ha! I shall check in the morning to approve your correctness!
Laseraligningfoofooflanges Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 I reckon I could conceal the real purpose of the trip should worst come to worst. I've of course no need or desire, but Bader-spec and towbar.Do eeeeeeetttttttttt

MOD500 Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 Dafter things have happened. Anyway, I'll pass on the fuel consumption info to aforementioned friend.Did I mention temperamental elec sunroof?
purplebargeken Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 The smell of large hounds running free inside the red Golf was something to behold. It's not something I will forget (I think). Mk3 Golfs are pretty bloody fine, you can still do most things on them at the side of the road with a bag of assorted spanners and Milky Way wrappers, it all felt solid and pretty well put together and stuff was pretty cheap to get hold of. cobblers and Laseraligningfoofooflanges 2
DoctorRetro Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 I used to like Mk3 Golfs... Mind you, at least I couldn't break the clutch on this one.
lesapandre Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Classy car. Over the old banger stage. Cool to own. My old boss had one in the 90's - a GTI. Drove like a looooooony - I spend time in the passenger footwell of these praying.
purplebargeken Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Mind you, at least I couldn't break the clutch on this one. I'm pretty sure that you could, even when badermatic
Flat4 Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 This may be blatantly obvious and I've missed it but is it petrol or diesel?

Eddie Honda Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Did I mention temperamental elec sunroof? You did. Is that encouragement or discouragement I'm no sure?
purplebargeken Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Bugger. This is one car I would have without a doubt, auto is helpful. Grrrr.
gadgetgricey Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 I bet if its anything like my old 1.4 Polo Auto the heater is an absolute furnace.......
Ohdearme Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Mk3 Golfs are pretty bloody fine, you can still do most things on them at the side of the road with a bag of assorted spanners and Milky Way wrappers...Not unlike a Galaxy, so glad I’d not cleared the screwdriver and pliers out of the glove box the other day during the door lock incident! purplebargeken 1
MOD500 Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Still not sure if you want to buy it? Here's a few examples of what £150 can buy you..... Flat4 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 If this were local I'd be snapping your hand off for it.
purplebargeken Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Why the feck has this not been bought yet. Thank fuck I don't have £150. Ohdearme and Laseraligningfoofooflanges 2
bub2006 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 I'm grateful I've no cash either. Especially considering towbar for and auto box. And I've no transport either since the cables seized up on the box. It's an ideal motor to stay within the family. purplebargeken 1
