Me, who doesn't like having cold hands 🤣

Nothing worse than smacking your hand against something while it's red/purple cold 😰

I certainly don't like having cold hands, or come to that really dry hands either

Not sure anyone does, having said that I'm fully expecting @High Jetter to recollect a story about adjusting valve clearances on a hot engine at the side of the road using fingertips only and no tools whatsoever in the pissing rain while it's about 1°C in January or something 🤣

Yeah I've heard all about @High Jetter exploits, though it was apparently -1°C in December 🤣🤣🤣

Who, me for not attempting to do it myself or @RoverFolkUs? 🤣🤣🤣

Both, and includes myself. My fingers don't function properly unless it's at least 10 degrees C.

a) see above, and b) am not that daft. Nothing more excessive than getting my old heaps home when their clutch hydraulics failed.

Fitted a new battery to the main remote key fob today as the car wasn't reading it properly, it was coming up with a message about no key detected

Next weekend I've a couple of days away in Eccles going to see a couple of old airfields down south then a week or so after that a trip to the tank museum at Bovington is planned, next month I'm also hoping to get down into Somerset with the camera at some point, so all in all he will probably do around 1800-2000 miles over the next 5 weeks or so.

Looks like Henry has been scrapped,  no trace at DVLA now and with the MOT about to run out I suspect he wasn't going to get through another.

Eccles had a ride out to Temple Newsam Hall and Farm near Leeds on Saturday, very nice place to go round.

A nice man is going to come on the 18th and in return for some golden splonders will be changing the rear shock absorbers on Eccles. Also need to get the MOT and service booked for the end of the month

I think it did very well to live at all after you chopped it in!

At a guess someone probably just ran about in it until the clutch gave out completely if you say it wasn't yet slipping when you got rid of it. A lot of clutches can stay high for ages before they start slipping so this might be an example of that

Yeah I wondered if that was the case

What sort of mad man would put a new clutch in a high mileage mk2 rather than taking it around the back with a shotgun😅

To be fair I’ve managed another 3000 miles in mine now with nowt else breaking so I think it was worth it.

Well there's me for a start, I'm bonkers enough to do that sort of thing 🤣🤣

Eccles MOT and service booked for the 28th, he will have done less than 10000 miles between MOTs this time which isn't many for me, though my commute is about a quarter of what it was

Just dropped Eccles off at the garage for his MOT and service

Posted

Eccles has passed his MOT, apparently there's a couple of bushes will need doing within the next few months plus the front tyres, the tyres I knew about anyway, not a bad showing considering his age and mileage
