Eyersey1234 Posted October 23, 2019 Author Posted October 23, 2019 Total cost for the bonnet lock and wiring being sorted was about £130 including coins for the taxman, not too bad. Dan302 1
Eyersey1234 Posted October 23, 2019 Author Posted October 23, 2019 One year today since purchase of Henry and just under 16000 miles. Where does the time go? Shep Shepherd 1
Eyersey1234 Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 I'll have to keep an eye on the tyres as the N/S/F seems to have developed a slow puncture. I suspect corrosion of the alloys.
Eyersey1234 Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 Henry meeting another Mk2. Dan302 and Shep Shepherd 2
Eyersey1234 Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 Another decent trip planned for Sunday, all being well I'll be going down to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway for the last running day of the season. The trip will see Henry click over 190k. Dan302 1
Eyersey1234 Posted November 3, 2019 Author Posted November 3, 2019 Henry resting at Castle Acre Priory, a last minute change of plan meant a different destination. Dan302 1
Eyersey1234 Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 Henry's rear number plate lights now replaced with LED ones. They were easy enough to change, two screws hold them in then unclip the wiring.
Eyersey1234 Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 N/S/R indicator bulb changed as well as it showing more white than orange. Dan302 1
Eyersey1234 Posted November 9, 2019 Author Posted November 9, 2019 Another run out for Henry tomorrow, up to Northumberland this time. Dan302 and The Moog 2
Eyersey1234 Posted November 10, 2019 Author Posted November 10, 2019 According to the OBC Henry has so far averaged 68.3mpg going from Brough East Yorkshire to Durham. Dan302 and The Moog 2
Eyersey1234 Posted November 10, 2019 Author Posted November 10, 2019 The fuel economy figures for today's ride out are in, according to the OBC Henry averaged 68.9mpg in 350 miles which probably means about 65-66 in reality. Dan302 1
Eyersey1234 Posted November 11, 2019 Author Posted November 11, 2019 Henry needs a new drivers headlight connector, how easy is it to fit one?
Eyersey1234 Posted November 15, 2019 Author Posted November 15, 2019 A pair of second hand headlight covers are now on their way for Henry via the bay of E. About £20 for the pair including delivery isn't bad. Dan302 1
Eyersey1234 Posted November 22, 2019 Author Posted November 22, 2019 Another mileometer moment tonight with Henry. I managed to set his alarm off when getting out of him tonight as well, as I had been sat in him for a few minutes he had locked himself. Oops lol
Eyersey1234 Posted November 30, 2019 Author Posted November 30, 2019 Henry still running fine, my OH and I have a trip booked to Dover next May which will be a decent run for the old fellow, if any of my fellow shiters see us on tour feel free to say hi. mrbenn, Dan302 and Kerr 3
Eyersey1234 Posted November 30, 2019 Author Posted November 30, 2019 Hopefully on Tuesday I'll be having a ride to Longbridge with the intention of getting some photos of the MG plant before it closes. It will probably be the last long trip Henry does this year.
Eyersey1234 Posted December 1, 2019 Author Posted December 1, 2019 Henry at work this morning. Dan302 and The Moog 2
Eyersey1234 Posted December 3, 2019 Author Posted December 3, 2019 According to the OBC Henry has averaged 65.3mpg in just over 300 miles on today's run, however I've noticed wobbling in the steering when braking at motorway speeds, I suspect the front brakes might be either wearing out or warped discs, is there anything else it could be?
Eyersey1234 Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 Leaving Toby Carvery at Willerby tonight shows how much quicker Henry warms up than Minnie (the Fiesta) did. You come onto a dual carriageway and go down to the next roundabout to turn round, and the temperature gauge had just started to rise by the roundabout.
Eyersey1234 Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 Another trip for Henry this weekend, a ride down to Ashford in Kent to photograph the WW1 tank and visit a couple of English Heritage sites nearby Dan302 1
Eyersey1234 Posted December 14, 2019 Author Posted December 14, 2019 Henry enjoyed his drive today, called at Wrest Park and Down House on the way to Ashford, plan for tomorrow is get photos of Ashford then call at Stevenage for some pics on the way back north. Over 300 miles covered today. The Moog and Kerr 2
Eyersey1234 Posted December 15, 2019 Author Posted December 15, 2019 Just set a new personal record, 615 miles in 2 days. Edit 620 miles not 615 at an average of 63mpg according to the OBC. paulplom and Dan302 2

Shows how hardy the 1.8tdci is. I thought glow plugs are only there to help start a diesel engine, but don't have anything to with running it? (since a diesel engine is compression ignition)
Eyersey1234 Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 I could be wrong but I thought glow plugs also operated while the engine was warming up. LightBulbFun 1
Eyersey1234 Posted December 18, 2019 Author Posted December 18, 2019 This happened tonight marking 19000 miles since purchase. The Moog, mrbenn and Dan302 3
mrbenn Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Good show there. You'll be joining the 200k club soon at this rate. Wonder if Ford would issue a sticker, like Toyota do?! Eyersey1234 1
