As mentioned in the Ebay tat thread before, I would be the owner of this now, had I not found my 540i before. Very rare in this condition now.

Cant sing the praised of these enough, if the gearbox is good then it's a great car.

Fuel costs are horrific as the V6 sounds good at full chat, worth every penny.

Given up on barges I think, it's probably a bad idea, even for best.

Anyone fancy coming to Chesham with me? I want to look at a Volvo.

Barges are great as a second car, but fuck running one daily. My jag would ruin me

Don't know if you've ever had the pleasure of piloting an LS400, but once you do, you won't want to go back to a smoll car afterwards (although your wallet may force the issue of course)!

I'm a barge guy, had loads over the years, and I routinely purchase a more fuel efficient little run around, but inevitably I pick up the keys to the wafter as they are just so superior in every department (frugality aside, and even then they cost much less on average to service and run due to build quality reasons, captains of industry demand their cars do not break down like the plebs are wont to).

I've just bought a Pug 206cc for fun and fuel reasons, but the Range Rover and the Lexus rx300 get the vote when it's cold and miserable etc every time, heated seats and so on are very persuasive, but I am looking forward to summer funsters in the wee frenchie :)

I would at least try an LS or similar barge, you can always sell it on if you get bored, there's always a demand on here for them ;)

When I had my Jag S-Type R and my Jag S-type 3.0 SE,I bought a Chinese shite scooter to balance  the fuel costs.the scooter broke down and I had to be recovered by MrsV8 or FiL V8 or I dump it and walk in,if i was close more times that I care to remember.

This is the best buy. Don't fuck about with Volvos and shit, you've been there, done that. Now is the time to barge, and if you're going to barge, you must barge correctly.

It's got 12 months MOT, and the only thing it needs is an alternator.

Should be an easy* fix with the size of that engine bay.

A sale has been agreed, thanks for all the suggestions.

Collection early next week, it's no secret this time, it's a very well cared for Volvo 850 T5.

The black estate from earlier? That looks lovely

Actually a very dark green. It;s as good as it looks, and it's had more work done to it than the ad lets on. Truly no expense spared.

It comes from a motorsporting family too.

I thought they are so good and nothing ever breaks?

Nope, the PO seemed to panic buy front shocks and bushes as they were advised for surface rust and slight play respectively.

I hope you like buying tyres & petrol! They are lots of fun because they are incapable of putting the power on the floor & preferring to turn it into tyre smoke.

The front tyres are reasonably tidy looking Pirellis, for those wondering.

They must have spent a hecking fortune on this car, the wheels have been refurbed too and look superb, although more metallic than new.

Lol, I read a press kit earlier that said Volvo had limited the power of the engine and put something on the gearbox to stop wheelspin and only have usable power!

It's more that I found an 850 to my taste, it's just sheer luck that I got a T5.
