Saab 9-3 convertible. Auto.

Wrong time of year etc etc, but Elmo the Saab is now for sale again. Previously sold on here but it developed a brake servo fault (hissing from the brake pedal area) at precisely the time the new owner drove it. Monies refunded and I took it back home.

Anyway....

Have replaced the brake servo and all is now good. Took me a while as was a bugger to do, but anyway, now done.

The car is 2001 Y registered. Automatic transmission and everything works including aircon, reversing sensors etc. No body rust, a few minor marks/ scuffs in the paint and bumpers but extremely presentable really. New front wheel bearings, good and matching tyres and drives beautifully.

Sump drop and clean done by me, upgraded breather system fitted by me. New rear silencer..... The list goes on. Transmission fluid changed, oil ( fully synthetic) and filter changed. Pollen filter done also. MOT September 2019. No advisories.

86,000 miles. Much ££££ spent tbh. More than I should have but hey ho...

Looking for £695. Located in Lytham St Annes. Can deliver anywhere in the UK for a contribution to pez and rail fare home.

Possible swapz. Possibly.

My Saab 99 had the ignition in the very same place. Really rather sensible.

oh bloody hell!

I've just bought a Pug 206cc auto on the bay, hopefully getting delivered tomorrow so no collection shenanigans, I loved the last one from Eddy until the roof played up, and this colour interior is up there with my favourites, goddammit :-P

Good luck etc and so on, still tempted but haven't actually told the missus yet about the Pug, bah

Tempted to buy this back :)  Mrs Pirate loved this car, but it would mean selling on the CLK which would be a lot of faff.  It had a new turbo, front struts, suspension arms, front brakes while it was in our custody.  It's surprisingly quick!

I’ll have this in 3 years please- once I can get it onto a classic policy.

I don't understand how this is ULEZ exempt... seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

Didn't know FJ did online quotes either! Although if it's £400 on a classic you might as well get a "normal" policy...

I did just bung in any old personal details so I'm sure it could be got cheaper.

When I had the forum bike 900 V6 floppytop it was an extra £20 to add on to my existing FJ policy for the remainder of the year (about 10 months).

Edit - It would be over £2,000 for me on a 'normal' policy, so I'd snap their balls off for £400.

What engine is it in this then and what BHP’s as standard?

900s too. Not sure how sensible tbh...they tend to get full of crumbs etc... Comes from the Saab convention of the keys locking the gear lever in reverse - which in the earlier 95/96 results in a more conventional ignition position - they have a column shift!

ULEZ is based on Euro emissions standards, Euro 4 for petrols (early 2000s on) and Euro 6 (2015 on) for diesels.

Oooh that's lovely, and it's a colour too which is a bonus.

Indeed so!

A nice colour. IMHO

Its not got the turbo gauge on the dash so assume would be the 2.0 Light Pressure Turbo.

Will still go well enough, but is fairly cheap and easy to get quote a very healthy BHP increase via visiting a bloke called Saabnoob on UKSaabs.

It is the 2.0 LPT, yes. Sorry, didn't mention that.

Open to swapz if Mrs Pirate would like Elmo back....

I know I know.... Selling as need the space, but never had a CLK before!
