Hello all, new to this site :), I've had many a shite car in the past and still drive a 20 year old Volvo at the moment, in fact I have three Volvos one of which is a bit of a project.

I'll just pop off and have a bit of a look around the site now :)

"Bit of a project" my arse. If my eyes don't deceive me that is that epic twin engined beast that I've seen on just about every car forum under the sun! You should make a thread for it ASAP and become an Autoshite legend.

Hello,

Time to introduce myself.  A very long time lurker here, one who enjoys the humour from afar.

Keeping a 40-year old V8 Rover on the road is one of the joys* of life, but I'm sure you must agree, life is just not worth living without a P6.

I have a tiny garage, a narrow driveway, and Too Many Cars.

And my dream?  One day, my ultimate dream?  I once dreamed of Morgan Plus 8s and Aston DB5s and Maserati Quatroportes.  But now?

Why, a Morris Isis, of course.

I'd wait for the situation in the Middle East to blow over first personally. Welcome aboard, brill username.

Welcome, by your avatar you have an S124 Estate. What engine? This is mine a few days ago:

It's been repaired now, due to pick it up tomorrow.

Would you happen to have a spare passenger-side front wing going?

Oooops Ball joint fail.. not good. Mine are a 300TD and a 220TE both half facelift cars. I don't have a wing but you could try googling Mercman.....probably got the same colour too.......Blueblack ? Yours looks in good condition (apart from the wheel)

I wished you hadn`t blanked off your number plate

I need to clone a silver Picasso and yours must be the only one in the country

Do you blank it off when you go shopping in case the public see it too?

I once had a red Sierra cloned, the bogus one was involved in a hit & run. Dont know why they chose my B reg plates, I understand that they were the only ones in the country.  Plod took statements from neighbours to verify that the crapper I owned lived in the front garden and hadn't been used for weeks.

Fewer scallys will see it at Asda than could on the internet, so no, I dont cover the plates with shite when its parked.

I've recently picked myself up a '98 Ford Escort. 1.4, Encore as a way to teach myself mechanics....

Look forward to hopefully contributing to the forum. Cheers.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks! I'm from Biggar, a small town in South Lanarkshire. Escorts are a rare sight round this neck of the woods now although mine spent most of its life in the Renfrewshire area.

Hi guys and girl*

You are about to slowly (it's an age thing; though I have always been a lazy *****) be exposed to 48 yrs of 4 to 6 wheel motoring expurtese and maiady.

I've been looking for a forum for my particular style of love and disinterest. Could this be it. (*hite list to follow as I have a caravan to shift and a Montego to break.....and this is retirement???)

* please tell me there is at least one?

The most vocal site girlie is Louise2CV, though now I've said this a load of others will probably reply and go 'what about me?'

I suspect that Mrs Pillock may have the odd browse from time to time, to make sure that Pillock hasn't won an auction and kept the details from her.

Mornin everyone, signed up ere ages ago and it's about time I said ello!

Aged 33, and live in County Durham and come from a long line of shite! Grew up being carted around in My folks' terrible/incredible cars: - a 1600 Beetle GT, then 2CV (Enjoy push-starts most mornings? No problem!)  Talbot Samba (rusted from new), and then early Fiestas mostly.

My own shite ownership history is practically never-ending, having begun with VW Polo Breadvan ownership (push-starts in front of pretty girls? No problem!), MGB, Rover P6, Triumph Dolomite 1500HL (sold when daughter was born, biggest regret ever). Then a series of Rover 400s, Saab 900, Volvo 440, MG ZT, Alfa 156, and now a truly turd Merc A140 which sounds like a sewing machine from hell. I also have a Rover 100 that was bought new in 1995 by my grandparents, which is mothballed, awaiting restoration as and when time / mood permits.

I love all the old TV classics, and in my head it's about 1975, so guess I'll fit in well :)

Sounds like you'll fit right in. It's a bit like alcoholics anonymous for old shite addiction. Moral support readily available when you fall off the wagon and buy more chod as we've all been there.

Hey lads I'm Duke and from Dublin and at the minute don't have much in the way of shite bar an e11 Corolla wagon and ph2 Renault 19. Previous wagons to name a few have been a couple of Ado16s, Saab 96, Mk1 Accord, landcrab, A35 and some lesser important yokes.

It is generally said that I talk a lot of shite but I know my way around an A-series and an Ado16 in general so I can be of some assistance to people at times.
