That it fell off the fucking car.

Well it's upside down, of course it won't fit.

That depends on the model - some like mine are integral to the control arm and can't be replaced on its own.

I was getting noises from my balljoints on the 190 last year whilst on holiday in Devon, made it a priority after doing some googling and hearing the tales of woe. I drove home very slowly. The garage told me they were very worn when I had them replaced, on the 190 you can replace just the balljoints.

On the 190 it also depends on the model (year?).

The W201 and W124 share the lower control arms because Mercedes loves to scam their clients while pretending to build good cars.

Their vans are just as shit too, even the Ren-issans they lease to stupid people with more money than brains

I am new to the realm of 'luxury' Germany gentleman's carriages so it is all new to me  :-D

Fixed that for you!

The only thing vaguely reliable about German autos is that you can rely on them to empty your wallet regularly!

I was in my youth gullible enough to believe the myth.

A Volkswagen cured me though.

(I still own it)

Mercedes introduced Granite on the changeover from the superb W123 to the W124.

Those W123s were even shittier.

I am finding as it is currently my only working vehicle that I am constantly putting petrol in, it is certainly not economical, I don't even do a high mileage. I wonder if one of the bigger engined ones would be actually more economical!

Familie Müller will let you have theirs for 2500 or maybe even less. Even has autobox and a hitch.

or take 504 in disguise for 1400€. Mechanically early 505 are identical to 504: same engine, drivetrain brakes, etc

What an awful looking pile of shite.

It's got half a market stall nailed on top.

Brilliant.

No roof at all, perfect for winter duties.

"In Deutschland nur max. 4 stück"

show me the other 3 please.

The Peugeot dealer in Cologne chopped the roof and used it to carry the princes at the annual carnival parade in the 1990's

Lacks any paperwork, rusty all around and for sale since many a moon at prices between 1500 and 6500.

Well, they weren't as good as a 504/505 but really, what was? A passable effort all the same though. A nice 230CE with the black top engine and 4 speed auto, very pleasant tram. The 280 Twin cam was too thirsty, and the 200 wouldn't pull a greasy stick out of a dog's arse. The 250 with that Solex fuelled four bearing engine was a joke. Like a 2300 Rover but worse.

I managed to get a slot at the garage next Wednesday.

Which would be all well and good, if there weren't an epic GGG road trip beforehand.

Why is it always us?

Anyway, the back box is once again holding on for dear life underneath that heap.

If you don't like the car, I'd be happy to give you half a groat and a selection of broken bicyles.

The price is, subtly, in the thread title.

£1,000.

In my defense, the mobile version cuts the title short :P

Yes, Shiter tariff is a bag and that's pretty firm, since the car is actually a good one.

Which also means that in typical Shiter fashion, I'm selling a good car to enable me to buy a worse one.
