Cavcraft Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 1994 Micra 1.0 'Wave'. Taxed end of November 2009, MOT November 21st 2009.Immobilisor (how optimistic was that? ), central locking, original radio cassette, sunroof.Utterly reliable, GR8 ON FULE and cheap to run/tax/insure.Finished in a fetching shade of Battlescar blue, I've recently valted interior and cleaned the outside up so nice and clean.Loads of old MOTs and some other shizzles too. Known faults: Exhaust heatshield rattles, there's more than one battle scar, the driver's seat is slightly tilted back to the right, heater only works on full twat setting, one wheeltrim missing and probably some other daft things too. One sill end looks like it will want a weld for next MOT but otherwise looks solid.Oh it's done something like 144,000 miles but honestly it drives brilliantly and is very reliable. Incredibly reliable in fact and there's two keys and two immobilisor things with it. Cash on collection, no idiots or text talkers, on sale until deposit/full payment received blah, blah blah. It's in Chester, Cheshire near motorway network and I'll collect from railway or bus station if wanted. £275. I'll consider offers but trust me in the value for money stakes you'll be searching a long while yet to better.
Father Ted Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Well worth the money, you will die of boredom before the car dies on you. I just cant kill my Micra. It does return 47mpg even when driven like a cnut.

I just cant kill my Micra. It does return 47mpg even when driven like a cnut.I think I will need to think about something like this for my daily commute, much as I hate to say it....through gritted teeth!Doesn't it feel wrong to drive it like a cnut? I don't think I've ever witnessed a Micra being driven in that manner, didn't even realise it was possible!
pogweasel Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Why are all these small car bargains so chuffing far away?My fossils would love that. But a £275 motor quickly becomes a £500 one with the travel lobbed in. Can't find owt like that round here for cheapness.
Cavcraft Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 I might be persauded to deliver for fuel, train fare home and something to keep me amused. Like a copy of Viz, a slice of British Rail tea, twenty bifters and a bongo mag. Oh and some air freshener because I always seem to get PARAFFIN LAMPS sitting next to me on public transport. But I can't actually be arsed going too far sorry, probably sort of like Birmingham or Manchester, or somewhere equally dreadful
Station Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I know it sounds a bit hopelessly futile, but 'how do these handle'?
Cavcraft Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 I might take it to work tomorrow down my favourite test route, give it large and see what happens.Check the local news tomorrow evening and if you see a headline that says 'Knobhead crashes shit car near oil refinery' you'll know it's not very good.
Negative Creep Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I know it sounds a bit hopelessly futile, but 'how do these handle'?Surprisingly well
trigger Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 My wife had a purple one of these with the 1.3 lump, I looked proper gay driving it but couldn't compain about the way it drives, Nice, easy and fun cars to drive and piece of piss to work on.No slouch either, pissed all over my old Escort 1.6i 16v at the traffic lights one day, The wife took much deight ripping me over that... Yours looks a bargain at that price, Keep thinking about taking the 02 of the road over christmas to do a few jobs on it and buying a shitter like his for the wife to use over winter but i would never find anything like that down this way.

Volksy Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Haha, thought these had all died, I named the Micra-wave (see what I did there) when i worked for an advertising agency in my youf, along with the Micra-dot, I did enjoy my LSD back in the day, and we're not talking OMG DRIFT.
Volksy Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Shouldn't it actually say 'Wave' on it?More than likely, however, it was a Nissan UK marketing campaign, so often registered as a 'Wave' 'Dot' 'Shape', but without the badging. However.....Oh god, I appear to still know too much.. *shoots himself*

She had tyres that gripped, I had a 440 bhp advantage but absolutely fuck all traction. 245/30/17s Goodyear F1s don't work in the wet.To make it really annoying, she kept looking over and grinning as the Cossie would get into the boost zone, wheelspin, and lose traction so the Volvo pulled away... again. Of course, the more she smirked, the harder I'd try, so more wheelspin, less traction, and the Volvo just kept taking the piss.Of course, if it had been dry, she'd have no fucking chance.

Young lad driving, he was three-up and I had me and a mate.He wasted me. Same thing, I kept boosting and wheelspinning, he just pulled away to the point where two lanes turned to one and I was behind.I used a variety of excuses - I was still getting used to the car, he had better traction, it must have been a sleeper etc etc.... but I was gutted
Cavcraft Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 Fear not OAP car driving fanatics for Micra is ULTIM8 SLEEPR. Handles well, goes (very) well and stops well as confirmed today.*The brake warning light has come on though and won't go out. Brakes would stop on a fifty quid 20p piece, handbrake works and there is plenty of brake fluid in it so I suspect the handbrake sensor thing is probably sticking. If it's an easy fix I'll have a look if I get time.

Cavcraft Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 Holy BEEF CURTAINS Looked closer at the rear ends of both sills this eventide and they need welding. The nearside is worse than the offside and I've poked a hole in it and it's a bit crunchy in that location. Now £200. It will need welding and the car is 'spares or repairs' but considering there's 3 or 4 months MOT and tax I think it's funking good value. I would even consider a swap for four new (not part worn) 205/40/17 tyres. In case you missed it that's just £200.
Father Ted Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?d ... sowigan=So 4 of these are a lot less than £200
Cavcraft Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 Scrivens McJimminy they're well cheap. Cheers for that, might have to get myself some of them as about the same price as some thieving plastic scouse MUTHAS want for second hand ones.
