Trying to raise some cash!

Let's start with the tools. These are all located at my parents in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex:

1) Liqui-Technik vehicle tilter.

A very useful piece of kit indeed, very well made and rare to find. Bolts to the vehicle hubs and the vehicle can be swivelled and held at any position up to and including 90 degrees. Is operated by an electric drill so can easily be operated by one person. Easy to use and stable. Perfect for a professional or a hobby restorer.

£sold

2) Engine crane

Very old and sturdy, none of that mickey mouse Machine Mart rubbish. Designed for lifting very heavy engines around. Has fairly new ram on it. Comes apart for transport.

I don't have any photos of it but it's similar to this, but painted in blue hammerite.

£150

3) A-frame.

Very good condition, bought new by previous owner and used once. Bought by me on a whim and never used. Comes with new light board.

Again a library picture, sorry! But it's exactly like this one.

Trailers. These are located at my place in Rickinghall, Suffolk.

1) 1960s/70s Chateau Mobile trailer tent.

Used and enjoyed for many years but now surplus to requirements. Comes complete with awning but some poles missing. New roof fitted a few years ago. Needs some slight attention to the woodwork, also the brakes don't work. Comes complete with cooker, gas bottle and camp kitchen. Good tyres and tows well. Very sought after these days.

£950

2) Old wooden box trailer.

Has new wheels/tyres (spare is shot) and new hinges fitted not long ago. Tows really nicely and very useful. Could do with a coat of paint and varnish but pretty solid with a good floor.

Misc:

New old stock GM foglights for a MK2 Astra GTE. Complete with instructions and fitting kit. Bought for the Royale but never used. Very rare.

Pretty sure there was someone in the wanted thread looking for a turny-over thing this week.

And someone looking for an engine hoist as well I believe.

EDIT : Actually, it may have been the Ask a Shiter thread

Team work.

I remembered something.

Kiltox remembered half a sentence.

Hooli remembered the other half.

We get there. Eventually.

I could be interested in the tilter, unless someone in another thread is deemed to have dibs on it. Does it come apart for transportation?

Not sure when I could pick it up, mind. Happy to pay now and collect in a few weeks, or feel free to tell me to bugger off if it’s in the way and you want it gone by Tuesday.

Also, have a pic of the little wooden trailer in action.

Hi Martin,

Yes the car roller does come apart for transportation. It will go into an estate or largeish hatchback. I neglected to say it comes with a box full of hub adaptors and fittings too, including fittings for three and five stud wheels (I've only ever used the four stud fittings).

No problem to keep hold of it for as long as you want, it's not in the way where it is. Might be better that way, because it might give us the opportunity to arrange a Shitely!

Perfect! I’m in then. I think I’ve still got your bank details, will wire you the dosh and we’ll make a plan.

What are the sleeping arrangements in the Chateau Mobile?  I'd absolutely love it for our camping trip this year!

Those car rollers are ace. It must be a godsend for doing proper repair work.

If the crane is an actual Weber it's a bargain.Their stuff is fairly indestructible.I'd be tempted if I didn't live in another country.

Will get more photos and info about the CM at the weekend! It's a two berth but has two hammocks above. Sadly both are rotten. I think all the fittings for them are present but I'm not sure if some of those bits have gone walkies too. I've only ever used it as a two berth without the awning and it's very usable in that state, but is in need of further maintenance/repairs ideally.

SiC is after an engine hoist

SiC was looking for an engine hoist I think.

I'm probably going to rent one. A local hire place offers them at £18+vat for a weekend and £30+vat for a week. At that price, it's not worth the hassle of trying to sell it on after and I don't really have enough room to store and keep. Thanks for remembering though!

Any time you use an engine hoist it will absolutely take 20x as long as anticipated

Every single time.

Sorry to thread-hijack but as you've now sold the Liqui-Technik vehicle tilter, could I mention I have one too?

For sale.

If nobody else is biting then I might take the engine crane to go along with the roller.

Last call, SiC?

Can I just reiterate before you make your final decision SiC - the reason renting an engine hoist seems cheap is because what you think will take a weekend will take 4 years

If Imp wants it and the deal is fast, check if Rochdale is near enough for him. Hes up here somewhere I think.

I may be able to take it back from Mildenhall Sunday if it's not too heavy, when you collect the Multipla Bumper .

Am off line now for the weekend.

Go for it.

Right then, ALL UR ENGINE CRANES R MINE.

Happy days!
