Father In Law's Facebook bargains and what he 'barried' next!

Wow that’s pretty special that is. What’s the bottom moulding made from? I can’t make my mind up whether it’s mock stone or bog roll. Did he spray the glovebox lid in a coal house while there was a frost going on?

I’d love to have been there when he decided to fit those dials.

Got to say though regardless of the end result at least he has got the bollocks to have a do at it. If it makes him happy and no one gets hurt then fair play to him! If he takes that pod off and rubs it down and sprays it black there's half a chance he could get a result out of that. Probably best keep him off doing brakes and major suspension components though! Best of luck...

When he sprayed everything blue he did it outside the sister in laws house. Carefully removed the trim and placed it on her and her neighbours bins, which had black lids for rubbish and blue lids for recycle and then sprayed everything. Guess who has twice as many recycle bins now!!

Erm, does he know (or care) that there is an airbag behind there? In the event of an accident he'll likely have those gauges embedded into his face.

Quite handy if he rear ends someone and has a bit of Frank on the wireless

And now, the end is near

And so I face the final curtain airbag in the face

My friend, I'll try and stay clear

I'll state my case, of which I'm totally mental

I've lived a life that's full

I've modified my car on each and every highway

And more, much more than this

I did it my way

Regrets, I've had none

But then again, still lots to do

I did what I had to do

And saw it through without exemption :)

At least he sounds an interesting fella. Provides you with hours of amusement anyway.

This kind of eccentricity MUST be celebrated and encouraged. You can’t moan about everyone having ‘Bland Euro Boxes’ and ‘Dull Modernz’ and then fail to be impressed by this absolute automotive carnage.

I’d love to buy him a lager beer.

WTAF, he's smearing wob onto the fabric-covered A pillar trims? Jesus wept.

Is your FiL divorced/single by any chance?

That’ll be fine* once painted blue.

For the life of me I could not remember what those pods reminded me of. Then I remembered -post-4771-0-45151200-1543527147_thumb.jpg

I just love the fact they point at the dash not the driver as they should do.

Also why remove and upgrade factory door tweeters when you can just screw new ones on top through the trim and old tweeter.

Does he wear sleeveless vests? He really is The King of the Estate.

We should club together and buy him an old E39 or E46 BMW, or a P38 Range Rover. The results would be truly spectacular.

Too late. Go on the FB 'Badly Modified BMW' page and examine the horror. Mostly by mouth breathing types.

Those speaker pods made out of Wob are epic.

Before the Passat he owned a E46 525i, I remember it well as it was a lovely car when he got it....

Then he ripped out the tool kit and did a boot install with amps and a little flat screen monitor on the boot lid. You could tell it was top quality as the household screws securing the mdf and electronics went through the actual boot lid in three places and dimpled the panel on the rest. That Bootlid was bloody heavy though.

When the Abs unit was finally cooked and the abs and speedo didn't work anymore he sold it to some local car wash guy but had misplaced his logbook and would sort it out in next few days. About a month later he was going mental over the two fixed camera speeding fines that arrived in the post. He never told me if he got out of taking the points and fines but when he was involved as a named driver in the last accident in the Peugeot 306 the insurance company checked his licence and voided the insurance as he failed to declare his points to them....

You're wondering how many points he had on his licence?

12 points. Yes 12 f**King points as it turns out he had 6 points anyway and then gained the other 6 from car wash guy but kept his licence after pleading the circumstances in court.

I've got a difficult father in law as well. At least you get on with yours. Mines a dick

Had we not been told he was your FIL, if you just described his actions (basic errors over selling a car, having to plead for his licence, spray painting bits of car randomly, wob, stick-on tat etc etc) I'd have assumed you were talking about a 19 year old lad.

Many years ago a work colleague was offered a cortina for his SD1. The owner had tinted the windows - on the outside.

Some real thoroughbreds there.

The owners or the cars? The owners clearly come from a small gene pool.

I’ve a picture in my head here and it’s saying some Roma gypsies at ECP somewhere desperate buying shit drop links on some crap 320d.
