I've long wanted to get one of these and fit a 2.5 KV6 from a ZS180 - reckon that would make a proper sleeper.  Unfortunately I lack the space, time, skills and motivation to bring such a project to fruition.

Well folk enter my roffles so it's only fair and just that I return the favour. Ask Brodders why he only ever picks number 52 in the roffling, am sure he does it for the same reasons :)

I'd be utterly, utterly and completely fucked if I won one in all honesty.

When can you collect it ?

I suppose I could do a roffle. I may also offer it up over at the 200/400 OC forum and possibly the 45/ZS FB group (or rather the MGR Sales group as sales are forbidden etc etc etc).

5 potentially sold already - would anyone else be interested in entering. There may be a consolation prize as well if we push it up to £2 a ticket (excess into Forum coffers of course)

I'd have a couple. The usual no need, etc, etc, etc but V6, auto and 45.

Roffle waffle

Tickets £1.70 each

To be clear, this will need trailering, A-framing or trade plating as MoT expires 27 October 2018 (unless someone wants to cough up £100 ono before then and drive off into the sunset). will be taxed to get you home.

Location : Bulwell, Nottingham (can pick up reasonably locally - tell me where you are)

To add to what was referred to above:

- I will likely relieve the car of its stereo as the R8 does not have one - it's not the original OEM one, it's some aftermarket flashy gizmo thing which happily takes USB connection. There is a CD changer in the boot - no idea if it works

- the offside rear tyre has a very slow loss of air - may be related to the way the tyre is on the alloy cos same thing happened on the front offside and was easily fixed by my local indie for not much cash

- as noted on test, nsr will probably need replacing soon

- don't forget the dent to the offside rear - it's still there from when I bought it....

- there's also some slight damage to the bumper (not me), nothing an Autoshite sticker and squinting at it doesn't cure....

Any qs please ask...

Will add as I go no need for copying and pasting malarkey

Please be advised I will be at Cannock on Saturday but if tickets go quick I'll do all I can to run it that evening - need it gone asap as neighbours are getting twitchy already

Additional 30p raised will be hidden in the car somewhere for new owner to find.

Am confuse. Is this not already KV6?

Posted

Ah I see, all makes sense now. My ZTT is a 2.5 KV6 and might fail its MoT in Jan because rusty, if it all goes wrong you can have the engine out of that.

I'm replacing the tyres on mine, and a couple of tyres are still half decent. Willing to donate them to the cause.

Cheers Mr Wobbler. This place, etc etc

I'll have a few tickets.

Am I right in thinking "a few" = 52 tickets ?

I'm right, aren't I ? Aren't I ?

Three randoms added to t'list, cheers Mo :)

You've cunningly given me 44 and four randoms, not 17, 44 and three randoms. Is this a low ploy to get me to buy another number?

17 as well please.

Oops soz, genuine mistake. Have amended. Don't feel obliged to buy another random. Unless you really really want to. Aw go on on go on go on go on etc

No bites yet on the 45/ZS FB group as yet (some possibles) although some mild criticism that I'm applying the rule of bangernomics by declining to fork out to repair it. Fair point.

If I'm really honest I absolutely do not want to scrap this rare old thing, but I absolutely cannot keep it on the road outside due to curtain twitcher/NIMBYs on this street who wouldn't be shy of dobbing me in for having a test-less car outside. I'm pushing it with three cars and now I have four I'm sure I can hear pitchforks being cleaned in various sheds....There's enough parking for the residents even with my four, but no room for visitors, and that's when they start getting twitchy.

It gets difficult. I ended up having a blazing row with someone in the BX Club because he was blank cheque book restoring them, and I was just running them into the ground in his opinion. The fact that two of my BXs are still alive, and others did several years after me was beside the point apparently. Enthusiasts get enthusiastic I guess (which apparently means spending shit loads of money). Must be said though, I generally find the 45/ZS lot friendly compared to some over MG Rover fans I've encountered over the years..

Posted

What irks me are the people who say they could fix everything it needs in a hour. Yeah, but the parts cost money I ain't got. That's why it has to go.

But you're right - the 45/ZS group seem very friendly (same on the 25/200/Streetwise group and, bar the latest falling out, the Rover R8 group)

Posted

Meh. These are a car at the bottom of their value curve and it makes sense.

Besides, you have an R8 now instead of a glorified Civic. While I like the idea of the V6 45, I can only ever see them as lightly breathed on Civics.

May have a buyer who is a Rover fan. Will know more soon
