New addition to the collection. I did the deal last weekend but was only able to pick up today.

The only problem is that I now have 4 cars and only space for 3!

Original plan was to sell the Manta but not sure I can go through with it

Nope it is not a Ford - it is an Austin (although there was also a Morris version available at the same time)

Mini? Or Landcrab for ultimate shite points?

You've only missed 1100 off the list of the only 3 cars it could be!

Nice! A clean and original Mini, as they should be.

I'm semi-dissapointed it's not a Landcrab!

Cheers. It is a 1966 Austin Mini Cooper. Full history from day one including original bill of sale. Has had a couple of new doors. Sadly they are Aussie spec ones with wind up windows. My mate has already tracked down a couple of period correct doors with sliding windows.

It is not completely standard but all mods are period correct - reverse S rims, exhaust, rev counter, modified steering column bracket. It also has a meaty cam which comes on about 5000 rpm!post-17378-0-71195200-1526210341_thumb.jpg post-17378-0-07898300-1526210376_thumb.jpg post-17378-0-78078100-1526210427_thumb.jpg

Coor, that's a beauty!

All the modifications look right, no stupid wheel arch extentions, spot lights, racing seats, bullet mirrors or minilite weels!

Those Aussie spec doors would be an upgrade in my eyes, much more practical and secure.

So you've picked it up now! I'll have to nip over in the Cavalier and we can do a test drive. You about on Saturday?

If you are going to run a Mini, that's the one to have! And in the best colour combination too.

**Slightly disappointed it's not a Cambridge but I'm weird like that.

They clearly last a bit better in NZ than in Northern Ireland, t'would appear...

Seriously though, well bought. I'm not the world's biggest Mini afficionado, but if I ever had the cash to splash on one, I'd want it to look just like yours.

Enjoy!

Cheers. It did also come with these attachicon.gifIMG_2150.JPG

They would make excellent boat anchors.

Steels and hubcaps all the way.

Good god that is gorgeous!

That really is THE TITS. The cautious cynic in me would make sure it was parked in a secure vault, though.

My first thought was are the windows correct? Because my first car was a 1966 Mini de luxe in (IIRC) Tweed Grey. With sliding windows.

998 or 997?
