Not bad eh? I am absolutley chuffed to bo11ox with it man, I feel like a have really 'lucked out'. I lobbed a mega-bid on it off eBay a while ago after getting annoyed with myself for taking too long to buy a truck. It went for £420 which is an average sort of price for an old p100, there are cheaper ones, but then again there are some really shonky ones about. this one had 5 months ticket and no tax so not the best in that respect, but it looked tidy enough. ANyway the seller was a 75-yr old geezer who was selling as the steering was getting a bit heavy for him (no PAS). What a diamond he was! He'd had it for 9 years and just used it for pottering, taking stuff to the tip now and again. He is into his classic cars and had a mint Morris Minor and MGA in his garage. He certainly has not abused the truck, old MOT's show its ony done about 4000 miles since he got it! He reeled off from his notebook when the cambelt was done, oil changes, new starter at so-and-so mileage, you know the sort. A real old-skool appreciator of machinery and a proper gent, he was even wearing a tie man.

The truck is GREAT. It seems to be in its original paint all over which I think will polish up lovely. It runs great, although it was a tad smokey when i first set off. I'm gonna put that down to a long period of non-use. If the turbo is tired its only a Garrett GT17 or 20 and i've got plenty of parts available to rebuild it myself, a rare occasion to use my work skills for personal benefit! Might do that anyway just for fun. The interior is tidy, with un-ripped original cloth seats, the original ford-fit radio which works very well, even the fuel gauge works which is unheard of on one of these! It keeps up with the traffic very well, though is quite low geared making 65mph an optimal cruising speed. Through the gears its pretty spritely, more than i expected. Theres no clonks or rattles and it feels amazingly car-like and civilised, the suspension is remarkably compliant for something which calims to be able to carry 1 ton. That old 504 truck I had, had absolutley solid suspension and I expected this to be the same but its not. Its quiet inside with a good driving position, in fact i think it would be quite palatable as a daily driver.

The truck bed is boarded out, I wonder if there might be a few crispy bits under there, but all the metalwork I have seen on it looks remarkably healthy, I cant see it turning into a weldfest when the MOT's due.

In summary, RESULT. If this truck proves an adept A-frame dragger I can see it becoming my main mode of transport!

Nice work Mr_Bo11ox, ive been tempted to get one of these Sierras for a short while now.Truckman and front bullbar to complete the look?

Looks splendid, well bought! Tidy enough, but not so minty you won't want to use it for 'proper' stuff.I like what appears to be a homemade addition on the bar behind the roof, ideal for carrying long bits of wood without getting too stressed about how they're tied down.Obviously what you now need to do is lower it by an insane amount, chuck out the TD and lob in 2.9 24v Cologne V6, fit white indicators, render the bed useless by fabricating a hardtop and installing some bonkers ICE system, and paint it bright orange. I can you see driving that...

That looks damn straight! Other than that bash in the back I'm amazed how good those panels are!R3BILD TURBOTS 4 FUN!

Great buy BO11OX. I'm looking for a pick-up too, a Subaru MV would be living the dream, but I'm struggling to find any.Did they make a 4x4 version of the P100 or did I just imagine it? I'm sure my uncle had one in the '90s when he worked for the Forestry Commission

Hey thats a nice 'un, I like that a lot.I bet in 10 years there will be about 20 of these left on the road so I hope its a keeper!

Excellent! Looks tip top. Can't you bodge a bigger turbo on it for laughs? Must have something lying around at work...

Ace hunk of shite that. Where did these all go? Copy of Razzle? - up here there would be an obligatory 1/2 bottle of IRN BRU next to it too! that's the look!Cool.Lol@ the 1/2 Cozzie replica idea!

LOL! These old ford TD's never seem to 'wear out' in any conventional sense, they seem to simply grenade themselves spectacularly when it all gets too much. Studying them on the bay seems to throw up a fairly regular stream of ones which 'were going great till the engine blew up a week ago without warning'! Even this one has had an engine at some point in the past apparently. Anyway i'm sure a bit of A-framing will soon have this one chundering its ring up on the grass verge.

I reckon you should go full on anti-cossie with dangly mirrors and early sheel metal with the grey grille 8) Looks a lovely old thing, I used to have one as my work truck, it took a right hammering, but never seemed to give up :)

,It would be class to do that, if one cam up that had had a bump or something it would make for a great conversion.

No really... they are. They've got lock on them like a london cab.

Mind you if ever there's a need to remove the fuel tank (I know how likely?) you need to lift the body off the chassis at the rear!

Good work, I've always liked these - and many of their competitors. Dont seem to be as many commercial type car-based pickups anymore - either wank 4x4 ones or van based.Asthetically I've always thought the bed was just a little too long, but obviously that's not what you've bought it for anyway. Is there much room in the cab? I am always a bit warey of considering a pickup purchase as I am tall and never sure there'd be enough legroom.

Loads of room, I was 6'2" before the accident and fitted fine, I'm 6'0" now and still fit fine...........mine is my daily driver and may now not be getting sold once the Cortina P100 is back on the road.................I have plans afoot

Believe it or not it actually won that particular event, much to the chagrin of the 'JDM tyte yo' drifters. Also what you can't see from the vid is it was a completely battered rotten old shitter
