What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Well, you needed to be rightfully pissed in order to buy a new Maestro, so launch beer was a sensible marketing* instrument.

That Vauxhall gave you some solace because your fleet manager confined you to one of their pieces of Autoshite was a good call, but could any amount of intoxicating liquids lift your spirits in this case?

Rynair ad banners on Ebay.

I wonder if they're themed to coincide with your searches? If you look for old chod, their ad pops up resembling a can of WD-40.

Back on the driving from today. New shift bus is a 1987 ex-MOD Leyland Tiger. Leyland engine, manual gearbox, leaf springs. I'm in love.

Funfact about Goldeneye: At one point the developers toyed with the idea of reloading your weapon by releasing and re-inserting the Rumble Pak like it was a gun magazine.

I think I can see why they didn't do that. There's also a massive fortress in the Dam level that was supposed to be part of gameplay but removed. It's still there and can be reached via modding

Never been able to do that, even with the no-clip option on my emulator.

Played the Citadel level though, and some mad folk have even made new maps for it.

Goldeneye was one of the best games I've played. I thought the controller was perfect for it. I played it in single player all the way through.

I've just finished LA Noire and nearly finished Far Cry 3. I always buy games long after they've come out, as they're about 25% the original price. Both awesome games!

I'm confused. This appears to be a conversation about games consoles / games, amongst other things, so why is this thread in the "cars only" section?

And more pertinently, why aren't some people pissing out their hydrolastic fluid over it being "off topic"?

Just asking, like.

Because. No reason is needed. Grin/Grump are very much a part of Autoshite, as I've explained elsewhere.

What makes me grin today is a Cummins 220 with no silencer

No, it's because people used to be able to use the grin and grumpy threads for off topic stuff without starting a new thread for every new Roy Chubby Brown joke they hear.

I will continue to post my off topic stuff in them as normal.

Get where you're coming from but for me it has to be an over fuelled/revved 903 Cummins through a tunnel.

Kwik Fit, no really.

Leon exhaust neglect has become an embarrassment and in my current raspberry ripple condition there is no chance of me crawling underneath it any time soon with bean tins, jubilees and zorst cement so I took it to our local outfit in Welling.

Top service by a very nice chap who fitted a gert big collar on it whilst I hobbled next door for a sandwich and all for 16 quid including my lunch.

The slight sadness of having to take my vehicle somewhere to get repaired rather than fixing it myself was overcome by the fact it would of cost me a tenner for a collar and no doubt my exhaust paste has dried up so that would of been more spend. Not to mention the blood, sweat, tears and general trauma of working on rusty exhausts in the winter with no ramps.

I feel elated. This could have something to do with the Tramadol mind.

Ah - a sensible answer. Thanks for the info.

There is no "Cars only" section, just Autoshite which covers a myriad of things including the "grumpy" threads.

This is how its always been as it works well and will continue to be.

Mind you i  am pretty convinced that if it had been moved over to Open Forums you would be complaining that it has car content & should be in Autoshite section. :tired:

Gardner 8LXB for me please. Nothing like a cloud of Gardner smoke to wake you up on a cold and rainy morning - that's what happened yesterday courtesy of a rather fine B-series still working hard at 35 years old. I haz video but it's on farcebook, I've just found out you can't share videos outside of there and I CBA to upload it elsewhere so now I'm grumpy again

Ahhh... I see.

So the leper colony is for everything that you and a few unnamed other people consider isn't 'autoshite'?

Better give a shout out for Detroit Diesels then, we had V8s and V12 Super and twin turbo charged, prior to engine management being fitted.

I still wind down the window to listen when I get overtaken by a scania V8. just lovely.

We all love a good vauxhall story, well poppa t rang me yesterday to say central locking had gone caput on his 04 Astra van and needed fuel but couldn't get the fuel cap open because of the central locking, so I told him to have a look inside as there must* be a manual way of opening it.

He fount it in the end, the I said check the battery in the fob, put a new one in and it's fine and local motor factors tested the key and said it's ok.

Now it's locking and unlocking many times a minute on its own as you drive along.

It's being dropped off at mine to have a look.

The Roads Service here in NI have Iveco Snowplough/gritters which seem to be running without silencers and they sound bloody marvellous... Definitely grinworthy.
