I did not expect to be here again so soon, but this newsreel is quite dramatic .

The opening of Wellington Airport in 1959, not really remarkable, except from about 10 minutes in ,

when an RAF Vulcan touches down short of the runway.

Viva

Studebaker

And the first appearance of these funny Japanese Toyota things, best ignored !

Funny how Timo Mäkinen morphed into Tim McKinnen in the commentary.

Hach, it was still all cricket back then.

Have any Allegro megafans brought over a Regent, or even just the fancy steels with quartic centres, seen on the Lusso models? Was trying to work out why they moved the square number plate on the back, as it still doesn't fit that well and they had to move the boot catch to accommodate it. Maybe to make it look a bit more like the Alfasud?

I don't believe so. One person in the club has managed to find one the owner was considering selling but wanted circa 8,000€ for an average condition one.

(I guess it could be the only one, I mean average condition for an allegro, not a regent)

To get one would be freaking awesome, check out the thick rimmed quartic wheel!
