That landcrab might sell to someone on here if you post up some details.

Sell each item 'by weight' [fill tank with water*]

*doing that with the Fire Engine might catch you out :(

Any mk1/2 transits in any state? Any that are saveable I would be interested. Anything that isn't I know a man who will buy them.

Otherwise a brief listing on here ought to get some stuff shifted. The large stuff like those Bedfords would probably go for export.

Old Glory magazine or vintage tractor and machinery I think offer free classified advertising and there are always wanted ads in them

Depending on the amount, type and age - you could get an auction house involved. Not one of the posh ones but a local general or agricultural auctioneer. Amazing what old agricultural kit, lorries and machinery goes for.

Posted

But that takes some time to set up. Otherwise the specialist mags for lorries, tractors etc.

Posted

Put some pics up on a few "barn find/abandoned cars" Facebook pages and they'll get some good coverage

Whether they turn into sales is another thing....

Anyone else thinking backup venue for SF?

no mk1 /2 sorry, plenty smiley face and later ones, local metal yard have been contacted but arn't really interested unless we remove tyres etc, few mgb gt and roadsters, rover 95, rover p6 2000cc  beetles, skoda pick ups, plenty of oldish merc estates, bmc threepenny bit chassis cab, loads of old plant machinery and bicycles, old horse boxes iveco, cargo's, tractor's, land rover 109 pick up scimiter gte 5eb i think, couple of reliant 3 wheelers (later robins) mini's, morris minor, bedford tk's , some later jap and british motors. p38 v8, merc 450sel, merc sl with no engine, various 4x4 jap  stuff. then there is the cast iron garden rollers, seats, tables, lamps, few motor bikes etc etc, if anybody is interested leave me a message, many thanks Graham

Chuck em all on ebay no reserve and hope you don't get too many arseholes. It should get a fair price for them all, but don't list as a job lot. List them all seperatly and anything that doesn't sell get the local scrappy in to clear.

Any idea what the bikes and tractors are? Any of the transits V6s?

Posted

hi DodgeRover, I am down there tomorrow so i will take a look and let you know, i know some of the tractors are fordson dexta's i think, there is also a marshall, international and one under so many brambles i can only see the big rear wheels.

Posted

Build a list up first and then some pictures.

eBay should shift most or at least give an idea of prices. Given what classics go for nowadays, they all should fetch far more than scrap.

Posted

Cheers my father had mentioned he was looking for a Dexta, if you've got a Field Marshall there they are worth big money in any state. That one in the photo is a TVO Fordson Major (I think)

Posted

I've no real interest in buying anything but I'd love to see more photos of the place.

Wrong century, m8. Them foreigners are leasing new Scanias now.

Posted

An on-site auctioneer as Lesapandre suggested probably the best bet. They and you can advertise the sale, and people will be obliged to cough up, unlike eBay where no doubt someone's kids will have bid my mistake.

I'd use the classic vehicle magazines and papers and discuss with your local agricultural auctioneer first if not in a massive hurry. I'd use Ebay as a last resort - it will attract all kinds of characters not all genuine. Especially if the site does not have someone there 24/7.

Posted

Auctioneers will also be able to flog all the rest including the metal sheeting, machinery and even buildings if they are demountable.

Is that a bell sounding cable across the forecourt? Only place I know of one of them is a garage near Milborne Port in Dorset.

Posted

If you are able the auctioneers may be able to do press release that may get picked up by the agricultural press etc to further stoke interest. Amazing what a crowd an auction can attract - and a few buyers too if stuff is no reserve.

few more for you all, sorry you will have to stand on your head.

I'll buy the Ossa and Honda TL125, any idea on a price? Will study photos more in a minute

And the early honda cub(s)

Is that a Simpson sat next to the Ossa?

Any other competition/ off road stuff?

I would tend to agree an on site auction may be the best way forwards. Is it pressing to get the site cleared?

Anyone up for an 'inversion'.... Or tell him how to?

I'd be interested in any of the two stroke mopeds/small motorbikes, and the W202 Merc estate (on steel wheels) could be of interest.

Amazing vehicles here.
