Decision made ! I’m taking on another mechanic .

Just flooded with work and turning it away now!

The hunt begins

It's going to be a tight fit but I reckon I can get one more bike in there.

The DR isn't looking too good the engine turns but won't do a full cycle so might be more wrong with it. The rest is really nice though no damage to any panels and not even a rip in the seat. Hopefully they will still be as good when I get home. The Honda is fab though. I really like the look of it so might have to keep it if it will run.

Nice one! If they’re going to be PAYE, make sure you clue yourself up with your obligations as an employer if you haven’t done it before. Gov.uk is your friend!

I 'think' I have to declare the MB fixed! No ABS/BAS lights showing for over a week since I took the connectors off the pump and cleaned it all up. Bonus is the 'hill hold' works properly as well. Better than spending hundreds at the MB specialists on diagnostics and then whatever they 'think' it is. Bet no one would have thought of water pouring into the connectors when the bonnet is lifted. I declare myself ' genius MB mechanic' :)

Don't think he could afford me... and he wouldn't even if he could :)  I am an expensive hobby (as my wife always liked to point out) and I would spend all his dosh on new tools that are absolutely essential (dahlink) for whatever job I was doing. Plus, 2 hours work a day may get a bit wearing for the lad as I'm sure he'd expect something like 8 hours for a days pay :(

I’ve accidentally bought a motorbike. A big Italian one.

Genuinely, totally by accident.

Chatting to a work colleague about a situation a friend of his found themselves in (effectively clearing the belongings of someone no longer with us) and he mentioned the guy was a hoarder and that there was tonnes of stuff to go through and get rid of.

Obviously I said “I’ve got too much crap round me, so make sure you don’t tell me about any of it”.

Following week a list is produced, and in a moment of self restraint I dismissed everything on the list until my eyes fell on this.....

Aprilia RST1000 Futura.

I had no idea what it was, no picture, no reg nothing. Information was scant, but teased by “what’s your best offer” I threw a blind bid in figuring it’s probably in several buckets.

I was a little concerned when my bid was accepted as I’d effectively bought without knowing anymore than the above a bike.

Anyone want to see it?

Will anybody from here be attending the Prestwood Steam Rally this weekend?

I'll be going on Sunday with the kids so if you will be there, holla at me.

V nice.

Detuned RSV motor in a touring fairing

Clocks all end up dying, may be able to get a Trail Tech Vapor dash in there

And as with most of the Aprila range, make sure the battery has plenty of life in it before starting

They do like to kick back and feck the starter otherwise

No photo as i was too busy staring, but at work this morning the neighbours had a lot of noise making with the only V8 brabham lt8 ever made. And they only made 12 I think ( from google) with the usual Coventry climax engine. 1964 I think and raced in period by jack brabham. Just sold this month to the new owner. It made a fantastic noise!

I’ve put a new battery in now, and I’ve sent the dash off to a company that specialises in component level electronic repairs. They’re confident they can fix it.

If not I’m going to have to find something to poke in there. Surely its not beyond the wit of man. I reckon it was poked on a corner and forgotten about because of the dash....

I've been in the sun all day, then I went to the pub.

That is my excuse until I'm outbid.

I really hope I'm outbid this time, I seem to have 20/20 hindsight but fuck all foresight.

Fucking harddrive on this fucking computer grenaded.

Had it replaced with a solid state one now, but they couldn't save my data from the old one.

So everything since the last backup is for the fucking dogs.

I shall contact the NSA and ask them to send me at least my email repository.

Tried lobbing it in the freezer then hooking it up to a caddy quickly?
