Not had too much trouble with the Pug on Ebay, apart from the usual "£100 cash m8" stuff. It's currently at £155 with four hours to go. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270898103829

Chap at the local hotel has a Terrano that's going to be scrapped, so I've overcome the Maverick's wheelnut crisis. Spare wheel is now back on the rear door. It's a beautiful day, so I really should get on with the various fluid changes. Back axle first as apparently old oil can cause the LSD to kick on for OMG DRIFT YO when you least expect it... (though I suspect this can be easily overcome by not booting the throttle mid-bend!).

The Ligier is on eBay at the moment, finishes tonight. So far I've had two detailed questions, one from a chap who wanted to drive it back to Dover, and one who was buying it as a first car for his 17-year-old son ( ) and wanted to see photos of the rear seats (despite me saying in the description box that it only has two seats). Worryingly, both were from the (then) high bidders. I have a feeling that this could be one of those fun experiences that make eBay such a great place to sell chod... :?

I thought Ligier were single seaters.

My Subaru Justy (old swift shape) is in for a clutch swap. and its an arse of a job. the whole engine and box assembly has to be dropped out from underneath (there is no room to lift it out-rear of the g/box has a long nose section for the rear drive prop) and definately no room to slide the box out in situ. something to be aware of in the unlikely event that anyone else is looking at buying one!

Arse. The Peugeot has sold to someone with zero feedback. I was out so wasn't able to cancel the bid. Chances of an actual sale? Looking slim...

Yeah, forgot to set it. Paying the price!

EDIT - Looks like the second highest bidder is interested, so all is not lost.

Received and fitted my 'new' seatbelts. Aircraft style buckles, which are kinda fun. While looking for them, I found

from the 1960s. A stunt driver crashes a Standard Vanguard, an Austin Somerset and a Vauxhall Wyvern (Velox?) protected only by his diagonal seatbelt and survives unscathed. Makes EuroNCAP look a bit soft.

Fitted reversing sensors to the volvo today. Quicker to take the whole bumper off and do it on my front room when the missus was out. One of those jobs that is immensely satisfying. Parking has become less of a guessing game and means Missus is happier with the big old bus. Sensors were £13 from ebay so bargain!

Got another set for the T25. Removed the rear bumper tonight and will fit them tomorrow.

Fitted the visor film to my passenger side mirror. Will see if it keeps the rain / frost off it. If so might invest in sheet of film to do the T25. Would make starting off in the winter easier to do.

Also swapped over the front washer jets on the volvo from the normal two jet to the fan squirt. Covers the screen really well and makes it stay clean. That plus flat new wipers means I canz seez everfink!

I used to do parking by ear in my Volvo - just keep going until you hear a crunch.

Before doing anything else with your 75, check the drain plenums for the shelf between bulkhead and engine, and check out the 75&ZT forum for details of how to modify your bonnet catch to stop it failing! These were some of the first things I did to mine. If the plenums block up, the shelf overflows all over the ECU. Nice! I expect they're ok if the previous owner is a passionate type, but you never know... I used an old curtain wire to check the plenums on mine.

I'm absolutely kicking myself. Haven't even touched the 75 for ages because I've been using the BMW(which I've just sold) as a daily and I had it parked off the road at a relative's house because it wasn't insured. So the plan, now I've finally got shot of the 316, was to get it back home and then take DW's advice on the drain plenums before doing anything else.

Anyway, I got the insurance switched over the other day, and went to collect the 75 to bring it home. Got in, turned the key - nothing, except for some clicking and an "EP" message on the digital display. Turns out this means an electrical fault related to the auto gearbox.

So I get under the bonnet to have a look. And what's happened - yes, the drain has blocked and overflown, giving the ECU a nice cold rainwater shower. BOLLOCKS.

I've just cleaned out the sludge with a bit of dowell rod and drained the pipe. The car is in the garage now, so I've left the bonnet open to help any moisture dry out, and I've disconnected the battery. I'll go back in a day or two, reconnect the battery and keep my fingers crossed. Hopefully this will work, but I fear it could be too little too late and this could turn out to be expensive. Not ideal when I've only driven the car about 20 miles...

That sounds like a Renault design ^

Volvo has an MOT date at 12:30 tomorrow. And what happened this evening? ABS light came on. Just bloody excellent.

Nice Polish chap left a deposit for the 540i today.

Clio auto has been towed to the mechanic for resurrection!

Not all, the JS2 and JS3 were 2 seaters, as was the JS4:

WorldofCeri's Project Accidental Rat-Luk Vee-Dub continues apace*.

Longer ago than I care to remember I had a half floorpan welded in; The nearside rear arch was tidied up at the same time.

The other side still sports the bodge-tastic efforts of a previous owner.

Still, I recently cracked open a tin of Hammerite and enthusiastically painted over the lot (no 'after' shot as yet). I did inside the n/s arches too while the wings were off.

Another hiatus followed til today, not wanting to make anything like a decent job of things, I bolted up the old, rusty, scratched, dented, rear wing.

Hilariously, the wob on the rear panel stands proud of the metal by about ¼inch .

The offside front wing is too far gone to be reusable, so I have winned these on Ebay:

If anyone in the West London area would like to pick these up for me and bring them closer to Coventry I'd be eternally in their debt. Otherwise an epic road trip to the smoke awaits.

The 145 has gone. Sorry to see it go, really, but I was getting a bit bored, and needs must on the financial front.

Need to weigh up now, do I.....

Tax the 147 and use that for a bit (bearing in mind it's MOT'd and ready to use)

Risk day insuring the 480 and getting it MOT'd, hoping it won't fail on much so I can use that instead.

The choice being based on admin fees for insurance changeover, and the fact that Mrs S will need something when her 156 goes, and she'd prefer the 147 to the Ovlov.

I'll get on the phone in the morning and see what they say.

I mentioned your BMW to her again today, and she's gone cold all of a sudden. Not sure if she just doesn't want me to buy anything else (probably) or she's being a new car snob (possibly). Also the fact that it's a two door seems to put the OMG I WILL STRUGGLE WIV KIDZ fear into her.

If I could shift this 147, however, things could be different.

Operation Free Up Some Parking Space has had mixed success this weekend. Skizzer of this parish picked up the Rover 75 on Saturday afternoon, and the 106 sold last night to the first people who actually bothered to turn up and look at it (very pleasant they were too, a refreshing change from some of the people one normally gets ringing up about £250 cars). Unfortunately the chap who was high bidder on the Ligier on eBay has been eerily quiet so far, and the taxi still hasn't sold, although I've now reduced the price to £250 and someone on RR has expressed an interest.

I've got two projects arriving next weekend, so unless the Metrocab sells in the meantime I'm going to have to tax the Innocenti and stick it on the road, then shoehorn the taxi into the Innocenti's spot (25ft turning circle FTW) and stick project # 1 (which is now a runner - I went up to the seller's house yesterday and ran a direct feed to the fuel pump and it fired up straight away) where the taxi currently is. Project # 2 is going to have to be stored at a mate's for the time being - I think it might need rather more TLC to get it going than # 1, and I can't have a non-runner parked outside the garage for obvious reasons.

Sometimes I wish I collected stamps or something...

Nice one Chris.

Wuvvum what are your latest projects/acquisitions?

In unsurprising news at Cavcraft the convertible has just gone and has been replaced by another German car. So far (ten mile drive LOL) I'm chuffed to bits with it and I'd wanted one for a while so it'll be interesting to see if I stay happy with it. Or can afford to run it.

*Cheers to the legend that is Boobydoo on here for his help once again. Tony I'm once again in your debt mate, much appreciated.

Got someone coming to look at the Pug on Friday, via Gumtree. Has left me thinking. Have I got any hope of reclaiming fees from Ebay seeing as my car DIDN'T actually sell? I haven't raised a dispute yet, as Ebay say to give it four days - so I will.

I've had that wet arse once already!

To be fair, I'd have it back but for the fact it only has lapbelts in the back. And I'd be castrated for buying something else. And Suzanne wouldn't drive it.

Thanks R9UKE. I'll give it a go.

In other news, the BX is being taken on a roadtrip to collect new doors and seats tomorrow. Wish me luck...

Hmm. Just had an email from the high bidder on the Ligier - he's away in Spain at the moment but back tomorrow evening. Which adds up, as he has a Spanish-sounding surname. So maybe it will happen after all...
