It is a Brougham!

Or should I say: Brooham?

Hasn't this wondered wildly off topic!

It has wandered slightly... but we are gradually heading back towards the Ford side of things by discussing your Mercury Grand Marquee Bro-ham

I don't know why I wasted so many years at school! I'm learning correct English here!

This one then is wrong?

Bloody GM, can't do anything right. You don't get pronunciation issues with Fords!

Yep, like Torr I know. Or Deelugs. Or Kahninennel. Or Monneree. Or Markeez. Or Cummitt Caleyentee.

See, it's as easy as Ayl Tea Dee. Fuck them Krauts with their Tonnesis, too.

If you say Beer can slowly you are saying bacon in Jamaican.

And if you say Space Ghetto in an American accent you're actually saying Spice Girl in a Glaswegian accent.

And why did Chrysler call every model a Lee Barrun for a decade or two after Noo Yawkers had fallen out of fashion?

They were only a posh Plymmeff Grain Fooree.

Fun at the parts desk: trying to get bits for a Ford Cougar but they insist on giving you bits for a Ford Kuga.

Mustang Mark Wun in the period commercials

Although common parlance has always been Mack Wun

Lee Barron is a mate of mine.  He runs the TUC in the West Midlands.

They also called some a Dee Sootoe.

Linda Barron is even nicer

I don't know any Linda Barron's. So I just googled the name.

You must be old! Seriously old!

Ah yes, but she still looked like this when LeBarons went all downsize into K-body Grand Furies with FWD.  Which I think what Junkman was getting at.  Or maybe not.

Never seen a Ford Durango before! They actually look alright I think.

I'd have a Fairmont...

So would I; it's pretty much a Fox Mustang in a less fashionable suit.

You've got to find one first!  It's probably easier to find a Mustang II in-budget.

Small world. I know his brothers, Drug and Bloodyred.

The USAF used to run Fairmont estates as airbase runabouts in the 1980s, used to see quite a few round Oxfordshire. They were various shades of doom blue, with blue vinyl interiors and I imagine 6 cylinder (or even 4 cylinder) engines. Basically like a cop car but without an interesting engine/suspension set-up.

That Futura Coupe is a honey though!

A Fairmont would make a really good* and interesting daily driver I think.

It's big and unusual enough to be of interest and stand out yet still small enough to run around in easily. As much as I love the really big old beasts, they aren't exactly the easiest of things to drive or park in some places over here!

The Fairmont and similar sized yanks are roughly the sort of size of a Volvo 700 or similar Euro cars. Maybe a touch bigger, so should be just the job. Then you could have a big full size as the weekend fun car!
