Citroen Visa 40th Anniversary - You have missed it!

I think its bloody selfish that you arranged all this on a weekend when Amy is working and I can't come. Can the 50th one be on a weekend when I can go?

Bring the YoungBekos with you? The venue has a children's playground and we're going on a tour to the MK Museum this afternoon as well... great for kids...

I wouldn't be able to leave until after lunch, Richardmorris from this parish is coming over to collect some computershite I have for him, plus it's raining here, we have the playdough out...

Have a fun day!

In preparation for the upcoming celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Visa, to help you brush up on your Visa technical knowledge and also your French culture and language, here is an educational film! :-)

If I had access to videos like that 23 years ago then I probably wouldn't have failed my French A Level!

I think I managed a few....

Also a bizarre set of circumstances which will test the mathematicians who specialise in calculating probabilities.

Are you all still going to be there tomorrow? I can talk Mrs Yoss into a trip to the big car boot sale at the Bowl and pop into this on the way home.

Would you take kindly to a small blue Skoda getting in the way? It is a Bertone design so it shares a little DNA with the BX/XM. Probably wouldnt stay long as Mrs Yoss has a low boredom threshold but I think even she can see the class in a DS but I'd love to see a few CX's in the flesh.

The LNA and blue Visa were still where I parked them yesterday and hadn't made a bid for freedom

The Peugeot-Talbot contingent consisted of the 104 and Samba hatch that were at FOTU and this Samba cabrio, the third I've seen this summer

Not me.

Shame we missed you today. We left at lunchtime after the road run had departed.

Never mind, ships are always destined to pass in the night.

Anyhow, here are some photos of today's Visa Section in Craig Revel Little Horwood:

Note the 4-door Visa Cabrio which came all the way from The Netherlands - the only foreign Visa seen.

The field could have contained far more cars than were present this afternoon, but apparently this is more likely to happen on the Sunday rather than today. Interesting selection of parts suppliers, including an Italian lad with a van filled with CX bits, none of which I need yet, and CX guru Stan Platts in his C5 Break all the way from Bradford.

The bizarre set of circumstances produced a fella in an "Isle of Man TT" T-shirt called Malcolm. Malcolm turned out to be a previous owner of my CX:

Work out the mathematical probability of one previous owner happening to turn up at the same event that I had driven his oul car to. 'twas Malcolm who had coated all the insides of my car in Waxoyl. He runs a Citroen workshop in Burnley and is a man I definitely want to get to know. He had also brought his long-suffering wife to the show; she didn't look particularly happy to be reunited with one of her husband's many past cars.

More photos to follow of all the other Citroens - including some XMs and a DS Decapo - when the uploading speed here is a bit quicker.....

Yes Yoss...

There were some nice CXs there today. See Quicksilver's and Tadhg Tiogar's photos. Hopefully more cars tomorrow due to it being a Sunday and looking like being better weather...

The Visa (and almost Visa) count today was: 10 x Visas (including a Cabriolet from the Netherlands); 2 x C15 vans; 2 x Talbot Sambas (including a Cabriolet); 1 x Peugeot 104; 1 x Citroen LNA

Also 3 x ZXs, 1 x AX and a selection of larger Citroen saloons, estates, vans and décapotables of various types... along with several non-Citroen classics. It was an interesting mix and probably more interesting and a wider mix tomorrow.

Amusingly, the cooking session in the Village Hall kitchen set off the smoke alarm.

Sounds good. I should be there about lunchtime (whenever lunchtime is. Keeping it noncommittaly vague there). I shall come and find the Visa section.

That really shows how much longer the Samba is. I'd always assumed they were all the same length until I was told otherwise yesterday. Those extra 5 inches make it look a lot less sawn off.
