Forget the charity shops, Steptoes Yard is only 10 miles from Shitefest.

I have however just purchased a second hand, rather mouldy looking, tent off eBay for £25, so I'm sorted.

2 or 3 years ago we had a camping trip as a 10 year anniversary of my stag weekend, cunningly named the Staggiversary. Anyway, one of the guys had bought a cheap tent from eBay several weeks beforehand, but not actually unpacked it before the trip. He was slight;y disappointed to find that all his 'tent' comprised of was the inner bag, nothing remotely water resistant at all. Oh how sympathetic we were!

Ellon Indoor Market?

I was wandering around in there again the other week, while getting the tyres sorted.

No, Steptoes yard is over by St Cyrus, an old farm with loads of sheds full of shite for sale and many fields of more where they have run out of shed space! They do house clearances and all the shite ends up here. Unbelievable place really.

About three times as dense and twenty times the size of the one in Ellon.

I'm cunningly going to erect it in my back yard in order to de-mould/check it over...

"is there anything quintessentially English you want bringing up?"

just been to Sandford Orchards Cider factory and will  be arriving with this year's contribution of two boxes of adequately alcoholic liquid gold, so no bringing up please

box 1 - Devon Scrumpy  - because Devon

box 2 - Old Kirton - because old

This is proper local stuff,  many of the apples are grown by two brothers who drink in my local - they used to supply Magners with apples, so the ad going on about being made with Irish apples was maybe economical with the truth

my furred up heart valve is groaning with the thought of the SVM catering hitting it - the rest is looking forward to repeating last year's delicacies

My daughter would pass out with excitement if we did her room like that!

What can it be? Ignoring the flags and marked car-park it looks like a rural schoolhouse. Or at one time a farmhouse maybe?

Scotland's Secret Bunker.

A decommissioned concrete-encased Cold War safe bunker where ongoing events could be monitored and 'controlled' (ha ha) in the event of a nuclear attack.

I went there in 2013 and really enjoyed the visit. Not transport related but some of you coming up to Shitefest may like to check it out on the way home.

Loads of pics and info on here.

Is that where all the sunshine and healthy food is hidden from the general population?

Insert bucket of sunshine joke here

The midgies may not put in an appearance, or be in reduced numbers; the late cold spell + snow will hopefully have fucked the little bastards in the ground.

I'm getting very excited! This time next week me and max should be in scotlandshire kipping down for the night!

Millions of the fuckers were out last weekend....

They're out in force when the wind drops up here near Ullapool (I'm on holiday with the missus). Have I asked for directions to the venue yet? I'd be travelling from Yorkshire on the Friday afternoon if I go.

Posted

Tip-top - I have the directions! If I'm lucky, it's but 5 hours 51 minutes from work's car park - so if I'm furtherly lucky (!) and get to leave at 4pm-ish, I'll be there by the gloaming.

We shall be waiting.

As I think David mention, SVM Catering will be in attendance; we can provide contraband from our exclusive* butchers outlet for those from the south. This is a perfect opportunity for those who wish to clog their arteries from the comfort of their own homes so don't miss out!
