My Mk1 Granada had headlight wipers when I bought it back in 2001, as all Mk1:s sold in Sweden. I removed them since I didn't know the feature had such a following.

Our 53 plate v40 had them. Anyone had anything newer with headlight wipers on?

My 1974 Saab 99 EMS has headlight washers and horizontally operating headlight wipers, using one motor, operating a shaft and cable system.

Meanwhile, my 1978 Saab 99 Turbo also has both headlight washers and wipers, but the wipers on that are operated by two separate motors and run Vertically over the headlight lens instead of Horizontally.

Pull the wiper arm down to the 3rd position and both wipers and washers operate.

The ones on the Volvo 240 were so long that they poked up over the edge of the bonnet when they came on so you could see they were working.

The Swedes, Saab and Volvo, certainly took vision seriously didn't they.

Some people have laughed at the headlight wipers on my 99's, but if you're on a long journey in the winter, with salty roads, you definitely notice a difference in the amount of light on the road when you hit the light washers/wipers.
