So I went to buy the papers and......

Inadvertently bought this delightful Primera SE estate for £175. Slightly crumpled snout so the bonnet doesn't open, MoT to April, runs nicely and things like leccy windows, aircon etc appear to function. I now need a saloon to complete the set. 8)  8)

Saved it from being broken up.

I had use of a 2.0 diesel that was actually quite pleasant but not that good on diesel.

How did they get it's replacement so wrong; from being the sharpest car of its time to the shit that came after

These really drove so well :)

you used to lurk the npoc?

I did, as harrisg. Had a white P10 SGX saloon, absolutely loved it, but galloping rot killed it.

Yeah I always wondered that too, they made such a ballsup they decided to stop making large hatchbacks and moved on to producing stuff like Notes, Qashqais and Jukes, so yeah I blame the last gen Primera for inflicting us with those ugly things.

I used to be on there way back when. I remember them telling me that a P11-144 rear end wouldn't fit my saloon. Lol.

Looks alright for the money, even if it only makes to the next MoT it'll be handy as a winter beater.

I have mixed emotions about our old 2.0 SE+ Estate. It drove nicely and was very well-equipped, but the engine light came on too often for my liking and it threw a load of problems at me on an MoT which led to us selling it cheaply after just a couple of years. It apparently got fixed and carried on for several more years but now appears to have been scrapped. Passed its last MoT in 2013 after initially failing on various items including emissions, but it still had an advisory for the EML being on......

I'd still be tempted by a tidy, high-spec pre-facelift estate but I wouldn't have a Nissan any newer than that now.

Renault helped. That's how.

Aye, true enough. Once they went down the trendy, "stylish" route, they lost my vote.

Yes Mr Laurel I did remember to get the papers! I like Primeras, really well built, handle well, good on fuel too. i had a P10 1.6LX hatchback for nigh on ten years, great car, never failed to start and always got me to my destination. Sadly time caught up with it and rust had set in so sold it for £100 to the breakers in Erith who were going to banger race it. Kind of a fitting end as I bought it from a friend who is still a stock car racer and I was a banger mechanic back in the mid 70's. Replaced it with the blue one about six years ago, paid £550 for it, been a good car and again very reliable. I'm not sure what to do with the estate, depends on how much it'll cost to add it to my insurance etc. Useful thing to have though. When I run out of Primeras I guess I'll have to get a Focus or Mondeo as Nissan don't make anything worth owning know and the quality is nowhere near as good.

Strangely enough I spotted a Primera only yesterday, the first I have seen in a couple of years. (and I live four miles from the Nissan factory).

My mate had one for several years but called it a day when it wanted a third new engine :(

No one was buying the Almera and Primera. So Nissan gave up and basically invented their own market segments.

Blame Renault for the P12. It is very Laguna II.

people always say this but the only things i found that was pure renner were the later plastic rear wiper arm and the interior lights- even the wheels were different pcd which was a shame as i loked some of the lunyguna wheels
