Ok folks that's the Red Lion booked. Couldn't get a single 16 seat table so it's went through as two bookings for 8 which also means it's not guaranteed that the food for both tables will arrive at the same time but I wouldn't think that is of too much concern.

 

Booked for 5:30pm, Sunday 8th October.

Excellent. Looking forward to this. Am possibly at a gig on Saturday night in Aberystwyth, so it may be an early start on Sunday and be glad I don't drink, so won't have a hangover...

I've just booked an AirBNB nearby for Saturday evening, because SKINFLINT and LAZY. Allows me to focus my energies on trains and buses the following day.

I am looking forward to this weekend me too also. Friday will be big yellow's first trip out with new injectors then Bladerunner 2049 of an evening. Saturday is the Bridgeton Bus Garage running / open day then drive to Brum. Sunday will have trains, more buses, dinner and a long drive home. Mon / Tues I think will be spent on the couch.

I'm very, very sad that I can't attend this. I have long wanted to stroll through a Class 309 and a Class 312, the latter were the mainstay of my local line until I was well into my twenties, and the former feature in many family photos from my childhood.

 

Alas - the 8th is the second day into a 75-mile organised walk I'm booked on, which my wife and I have been training for all of this year.

 

I hope everybody has a fantastic weekend, and that everything in the collection eventually finds a safe home.

Wanted to come to this, (technically I still can).

 

But domestically it might be a bridge too far as I was away gallivanting in France last weekend (sans missus) and have just booked up for a gig in London (also sans missus) in a couple of weeks.

 

Reluctant to push my luck any further.

An unusual situation has arisen, in spite of my large car collection it is not very often that I am slit about which car to use, but for Sunday should I take straight-six or V-six?

I vote straight six on the basis that I have seen the Alfa before but not seen the BMW yet.

Turbo, or not-turbo - as a local 16th century playwright probably never mused...

I rejected Turbo diesel for the trip as not using enough petrol!
