OMG 80's THROWBACK!

Posted Image

Is it wrong to like this?

Not wrong at all, I quite like the look of that.

I'm sure I remember a brochure/leaflet for them around the time my mum got her Polo from the dealer, think they were sold through dealers with the big stripe, white wheels and colour-coded kit.

edit: Aha! I wuz right! Brochure and review scans here :)

£400

What Halfwit paid that much for that pile of scrap.

I dispair!

I couldnt sleep the other night, and eventually I thought about this car and laughed myself to sleep thinking about it. Its got to be one of the most utterly hopeless cobbled-up shitheaps I've yet seen someone trying to peddle on there. And his assertion, despite the fact that his decent clear pics show it having been utterly mutilated, that its almost fully restored makes it even more amusing. Look at his 'convertible conversion!' He's literally hacked the roof off with an axe.

But the joke is on me I think as he's got more for it than I suspect my Ital will make!

PLEASE NO TIME WAISTERS OR BOY RACERS AS THIS IS A ORIGINALCAR THAT WILL NOT LOOK GOOD WITH 20 INCH CHROME WHEELS OR AN EXHAUST YOU CAN HEAR FROM ANOTHER TOWN.

Yeah, so LAY OFF IT KEKKERS!
If I were loaded, I'd buy this and turn up to collect in a van containg some 'Fox Racing' alloys and a Peco Big Bore. See if he has the conviction to refuse the sale.I wouldn't actually fit them, natch - that's a fucking lovely car. However it boils my piss when sellers get all high and mighty and pretend they can control what a new owner does to what is to become their own property.

Worlds longest sentence?

I know it was years ago and this car had been stored for around 14 years by its former disabled owner and was in structurally sound condition having never been welded and now every thing on this car is exactly as it should be, not a polished nut and bolt restoration but rebuilt with where possible new or good used parts but keeping as many original parts as possible and having many many hours work on the body and being finished off with a paint job i can only describe as superb that was done in subaru blue which is almost an exact match for the original blue except this is lightly pearlescent and really looks the business on a sunny day.

Lovely car though!

thats a pre 68 banger racer with money to burn bidding on that!

Would be a bit pointless as it's from 1974...
As long as the vehicle model was introduced prior to 1968, you can race it. IIRC Volvo 144 was 1967?That's my understanding of the rules anyway. I have seen HC Vivas (1970) and FE Victors (1972) in pre 68s so it's all down to whatever the banger racing 'scrutineer' lets through on that day. There are also pre 72 races, basically to stop Ford Granadas taking part I assume.

That Rover Sterling is lovely :D . At £250, that Anadol thing may end up getting stripped for the mechanical bits, as it's basically a Mk1 Cortina underneath.

i contacted my local scrap yard who offered me £250.00 for it but a pal seems to think its worth more

Scrap gone up again?
Maybe the bloke at the scrapyard wanted it for himself or a mate and offered more than scrap value for it. Do these have any export value?

Most likely its just complete bullshit!!!

I think this ebay thread is gonna be getting some serious hammer over the next week as I have got fuggin 'Chicken Pox' meaning I am stuck in the house for a week.

This looks pretty smart, only £150 but someone has nicked the engine. Simply lob in a Prima Diesel (get one out of a landrover, not a Montego) FTW.

GR8 4 not payin' council tax

1. So comedically long they have to stand half a mile away to get it all in the pic

2. OMG overhang! You could wipe out a whole village with that if you didn't concentrate when cornering.

I agree, an old Granada with the reg 'TATZ0R' would rock it.

Hmm, wedding-spec white too. It's a swift descent from hereon in.

It's certainly a 'load' of something, though fun is not the adjective I'd use.

Theres a splendid 'Potted history of the Austin Metro' in the ad for that white one.

It's pretty tidy too, even I cannot find fault with that.

Ooh I'd love that Metro - I remember them coming out with all the jazzy new graphics and everything in '88.That's in minty mint condition, I love to see stuff like that absolutely factory fresh.Needs a bit of a pump up mind!
