Not a lot of interesting stuff about now the weather's changed - but this beast was outside a garage with a job sheet inside

Job Sheet: Put back to standard ride height. Fit correct period specific plates, reprimand owner.

Weren't they fitted with hydraulic suspension?  Licensed from Citroen?  In which case it might be knackered spheres rather than lowering as such.

Agree on plates though.  What is the last suffix that black and silver are acceptable on? F?

The cut off used to be before Jan 1972, but now I believe anything historic registered is entitled to ware then. After white/yellow plates were introduced about 1968 hardly anybody wanted their car to look dated with old black & white/silver plates. To my eyes black and white/silver looks out of place on 1970s cars including our 1976 XJ6 that has them.

The DVLA bods got shirty again and now its anything up to end of 1979 that can, they realised their mistake and stopped the black and white plate entitlement rolling over each year

was 1972 so K/L were the last things properly allowed to wear black and whites - but by then they were seen as old hat so new car buyers mostly opted for the modern yellow black/white black ones

One good thing about getting stuck in London traffic is being able to picture interesting cars

Guy was telling me the 1600E was painted by Ford under warranty when two years old due to all the lacquer peeling off the silver?

Posted this elsewhere yesterday but today it was less raining.

Only just realised the heated rear window elements are vertical, don't think I've seen that on anything else

Those Zs are so pretty. I really struggle to comprehend the fact the car is 53 years old.

You won't park next to another one at Tesco

That is a rare thing.

There are no other Subaru Alcyones known, but that is the JDM name for the XT.

According to How Many Left there are only 3 Subaru XTs one the road at present, so yes, you will not park next to another. There are around 20 on SORN.
