Ive just got back. Battery wasnt aided by me fannying around with ignition on sorting electric roof out! Car averaged 42.37mpg tank to tank over 190.7 miles. Very impressed. Good to meet you all.

A CD with the centre hole filed square and angles marked around the edge with felt tip (use folded paper to get 45°, etc.) makes a perfectly adequate angle gauge for a 3/8" drive

I just eye it up, use the ratchet to get the bar going exactly across the engine bay, 90° is when the bar is pointing front to back, 45° is half that amount etc.

 

Although the way you describe John F sounds much more impressive looking and potentially accurate.

My wrist is giving me huge pain again after settling down for a few weeks, think I must have slept on it or something stupid like that.

Don't fancy towing for an hour with one properly functioning arm really so I'll pop over tomorrow daytime and meet whoever is still there. Bit gutted really.
