WIGAN - Shitly Request

Hey

You might already know this, but I do not north.  I travelled up the A1 as far as Peterborough, realised they don't speak RP and that's as far as it goes.

However.

I have my eye on something which is North, which causes me great inner conflict.

Would anyone be up for driving some 80s chod down to me near Cambridge?  I could collect next week when I'm on holiday, but am just looking at options.

I'd be mega grateful, and you can pretend to be a senior field sales executive circa '84 with a few quid too.

I admire your stance on North.  I have got myself into all sorts of scrapes, brouhahas and tight spots by recklessly Northing.  I am resolved to know my limits and stay south of Birmingham from now on.

Therefore, I cannot be your man, although the gig sounds well tasty.   GLWT caper.

I was just saying last night that I have not southed since 2010, the last time being Billing for a car show.

If I had the time, I'd do this just to blow all of your "north/south" bollocks out of the water. :D

As if I didn't already by going to Northampton and back in a weekend for no real reason.

Mostly, I am time poor.  If I had to go on a 350 mile round trip, I'd rather it wasn't ruddy Wigan I was visiting.  That's all!

I kind of fit the bill being Wigan Council resident.

But the earliest I could do is next Monday... not sure how that would suit your plans.

I'm just trying to tie up the deal as we speak.  I heard once that if everyone's disappointed with a deal, then it's probably a fair one.  Therefore I've made him a very disappointing offer.

It's not the distance (or lack thereof) all these mards chat on, kid - it's the disrespect.

I feel your pain - although I did get a lovely Volvo estate out of my trip to Scotland.

I'm near Wigan, but won't be Southing anytime soon, unless cheap stuff attracts me. Are there any cheap Alfa GTs in your neighbourhood?

Posted

The entire GGG and most of the NP are near Wigan.

But it's the prospect of southing that sucks. I for one don't travel south of Bramhall if I can avoid it.

I'm some distance from Wigan, which is good as it avoids my having to travel to Cambridge.

I do pass by Cambridge at times on my way to better places.

Boston??

Thanks for your help with this gentlefolk of NORTH.  However, I've just had ANOTHER lesson in how bloody deceiving photographs can be.  Ironic, because I'm pretty good at myself.

I'mma see what the vendor says, but parts of this car make the Sierra bASe look welcoming.

Soz, read the title as WOGAN.

As you were.

Well I'm being driven up to manchester for a gig on the 19th april. So if any of the GGG want to store it, then if they meet me at about 12am in manchester I can bring it to exactly peterborough! Might even be able to swing some driveway space with my granny for a few days. If you're really unlucky, my grandad might be able to pick you up from the train station

I can store it, no prob.

Meeting you in Manchester midnight 19th might prove difficult though.

Maybe Conelrad involvement is required with this.

We're going to see Dream Theater at the apollo. Meeting before the concert might be possible, but I don't know manchester at all to know where to stash it on the cheap and be able to get it after the gig and follow my dad back.

Boston?

Mildenhall actually

I did buy the 75 from Boston, but went the more direct route via Scunthorpe.

I can do a relay link from Newark +/- 20 miles to mildenhall

That all wouldn't be such an issue if I weren't abroadshires at the time.

Thanks so much for trying to make this happen. Unfortunately, the car is more turkey'd than I was previously lead to believe by the vendor.

I have to head North (from Kegworth) Tomorrow to somewhere between loth and Grimsby.  Pick up 3 people (one wife, one sister in law, one nephew) and take them West to Miseryside. On Monday I will Head back to Derby for a week in what I consider to be Far enough south.

Well if it aint totally fubared I have space in Preston to store until you can come north or I ( or someone else) can go South
