New* shite - Skoda Fellatio

It's my belief everyone should have one of these bastard things at some point in their lives. This is supposed to be a stop gap car, but I may end up keeping it. I found this in the middle of nowhere, plenty of MoT and 49,000 miles. Resplendent in Tipp-Ex, it comes with the old pushrod OHV engine and earplugs. It's noisy, plasticky, not all that quick and I love it.

I nearly went for one of these instead of the Megane but the seller didn't reply to my messages. WOULD.

Commuted 140 miles a day in a 1.9D - utterly dependable in a wanting to gouge your eyes out rather than look at the dash any more kind of way

Had one for a year, great cars. Lots of low mileage giffer ones about. Ours had 40k on the clock and rear seats that had never been sat in.

Gave it to my brother who killed it :(

I quite fancy one of these miserable shit heaps.

Indeed, I was unlucky enough to buy one that had the VW 1.6 engine - what a mistake that was. The old Favorit I had with that engine was a gem; it's only a pity it had pretty much dissolved by its 9th birthday.

I've always wanted one of these to discover of they are utterly miserable to own. It is miserable inside, but I rather like it.

Are the 1.6s really that bad?

There used to be loads round here when I was at school, driven by a lot of fellow pupils' parents and most were 1.6 SLXi and GLXi I think, colour coded, alloys, front fogs etc so plush for one of these, but then this was 2002/3 and most were R reg so between 4 and 6 years old then

I've never had a Fellatio, but I rather liked the Favorit I had.  I need to try one one day.  If one of the daft Laurin & Klement versions comes up when I have some spare cash I might have a hard time resisting.

They're surprisingly thirsty, no smoother than a 1.3 on the move, not very powerful. A 1.3 will rattle away to a grand old mileage; a 1.6 will start to burn oil at a rate

I love them; they feel almost French in their gait on the road; very like the Renault 19 listed for sale here

I'm struggling to find a thing I don't like about it. I like the way it drives, it's quite roomy for a small car and I'm quite fond of the way it looks. Inside and out.

This is my Felicia 1.3 GLXi that I paid £75 for just over a year ago. It's been totally reliable. His name is Phil Easier.

I feel I should stick up for my poor little 1.6 here. I love it. I know it could have more power but it has 99 torques which is enough to surprise people briefly (even me sometimes) and contrary to the comments above it is significantly smoother than the 1.3. Admittedly the torque runs out quite quickly.

As also mentioned above it does use a bit of oil but we've taken it from 38k to almost 80k and it hasn't got any worse. This is mine.

I realise it could have been so much better though. This is what it should have had.

As fitted to this.

This was Å koda's own all alloy (the VW lump has an iron block) OHC 1.6 that was all ready to go into production but VW didn't want them using it. 101bhp and significantly lighter would have made a hell of a difference.

Ahh, if only...

Well the old Magic we had was pretty reliable really, put up with doing a 110 mile round trip commute for a year before it died after the Mrs hit something, that 1.3 OHV is fairly tough, and the only real awkward job on them is the water pump on PAS fitted cars as Daverapid will vouch for, as he did the water pump on ours. A neighbour has a T reg 1.3 LXi, and it's showing surprisingly little rot

Thanks. The car is totally standard apart from those but they came along at a price I couldn't refuse.

Had these for a while.

These were my friends Citigo wheels. He bought the Ronals new to go on his his Citigo. When he traded it in he couldn't let the Ronals go with it so I got them.

Looks GR9 on both sets of alloys, but I do like the look of those Ronals

I had a Córdoba 1.6 which I guess was the same engine (1.6 OHC SPI?) T'was surprisingly thirsty but a nice enough car otherwise.

If you see one of these for sale, then yes, definitely buy it. Howmanyleft says there's four left. Plus nine sorned, and they're probably sorned for a reason.
