In the unlikely event this hasn’t roffled off by the 1st October I can see me jumping a few stations south on the motorway with a bundle of cash for this depending on the course the phone call from the mot station takes.

MOT is planned for weds morning. It's taxed to get you home till the 31st....

I’m sure yours will breeze through, it’s the call from them doing mine on the first that induces the squeaky bum syndrome.

Besides the blowing exhaust, there’s a nail in one tyre that needs sorting and the dodgy headlights...I won’t be scrapping mine, will probably just need something to tide me over as I slog through the bits as and when.

They may surprise me and waft it through...

2 randoms please.  I promised myself no more raffles but I am carless (not even a broken one hidden away somewhere) and Saabless (very odd) for the first time in a long time.  Its weird.

Someone hurry up and buy this!

I let slip to a neighbour that it's for sale and some toothless wonder wants to pay me weekly from his dole.

It deserves better as it'd just get trashed about and killed, he's one of that type.

It's probably illegal to act as a loan shark. Tell him that you'd have to be registered with the Financial conduct authority, but if he gives you 100 quid a week for the next 10 weeks the car is all his, after the 10 weeks is up.

I know!

At least he said he'd pay upfront & get the car when it's all paid. I think I'm going to tell him a mate wants it but can't get down for a bit so it'll be sat there till they collect, then hope one of you lot buys it or the tickets sell out.

He has now been told he's missed out. It's up to you lot to prove me right now.

I can think of absolutely no reason why I would need or want this and the last Swedish car I owned cost me a fortune and tried to flambé me alive.

So obviously I want 2 randoms please.

Just 20 tickets left, I'm hoping this will finish in a flurry once it's got a new MOT.

Bloody coil spring....

Indeed. One is now on order for £39, due Monday.

I need to check my insurance will cover two cars as a temporary thing so I can SORN this and swap my insurance to the Jaaaaaaagg and tax that Monday. Current plan is this will be fixed and retested by weds if the evenings are dry.

Insurance confirmed, the Jag is on the road monday & this is still covered for seven days so I can get to the re-test. Going to SORN this from monday though as I refuse to pay to tax both.

I was tempted, but sadly the Autobox has really put me off a lot more than the mileage or the cost of insuring and running this beast.

Well Hooli has put 18k on this since I've had it and the previous owner had it banging I think for 10k or so before hand. So despite the problem it's put on that mileage without shitting itself. When I had it the bang did sound rather nasty but it never FTP while doing it. I trusted it to get me to work and back when I had it. The guy before me also trusted him too and being a contractor, him not turning up would have lost him more in half a day than the car is worth. Plus Hooli has said that it's better than it was from the fluid changes and what not.

The bang noise when I had it sounded like someone letting go of a really big rubber band. Still shifted into the gear requested though.

You could make the banging not as painful when stuck in traffic by putting it into manual mode and then setting off in 2nd or 3rd. Being a slush auto that won't do any harm by letting it slip like that. Just will be slow off the line. But then slowness is not a problem in stop/start traffic.

The banging from the box explains why it got an advisory for front subframe mounts this year & why the flexipipe on the exhaust snapped earlier this year. As SiC says it's improved a lot since I got it.

MOT for this mightily tempting beast, if I'm not mistaken!
