Woollard's jacket!

We should find out if it still exists, restore it and take turns wearing it.

Yes, it is a good video this one. I still haven't forgiven Mr Woollard for suggesting the BMW has the edge though! ;)

I love the way he lounges on the Jag at the end.

I had a brown one like that years ago, jacket long gone but it had an inbuilt waist belt thing which I still have as the strap on an accoustic guitar.

Sue Baker's yellow jumper look was hardly Selina Scott.

Junkman was wrong. Everything was better in 86, but very slightly better in '87!

I wish I could Woollard an tractor.

Sadly, I'd probably cut myself in half with the scars sustained in an accident. I can still bend my legs behind my head, mind. What a useful skill.

Great episode.

Which begs the question...

If it was 1987 now and you could buy one brand new car what would it be?

I'd get a Jag - not this actual one of course, since Mr Woollard has probably scratched it with the belt buckle on his leather blouson.

Sad how much of that chod (ie all of it) is now bean cans.

Cracking episode though.  A personal highlight how they don't even retake for mistakes by the presenters, and the old dorris buying a Nissan.

It looks like such a good programme back then, so far from the shit they put on now, its almost like two completely different programmes.

I'm watching it now, fuck me its amazing! I've never seen old top gear really, so much detail, and so many epic cars back when they weren't chod!

Posted

Was my fave show on telly as a kid, and I'm really liking watching old episodes of Motor Week,  they reviewed some real chod on that, and it's still hosted by a very elderly looking John Davis today

There were still a few SD1s available in '87. There are certainly E-reg ones knocking about.

Amusingly one of the 1986 Rover range brochures contains the 800 and the SD1 at the same time.
