Nocturnal Xantia Kerleckshun.

As I type, I am aboard one of SouthWest Train's finest Class 159s heading for Yeovil. Estimated arrival time at Yeovil is 2129.

Colc has made the Xantia ready for its amble west, updates as soon as there's anything worthy of note!

I would have preferred to collect earlier but a job moving a double decker from Taunton to Winkleigh got in the way:

Coming to you live from outside colc's gaff.

Distinct lack of street illumination is an issue.

Huge thanks due to colc. It drove 55 miles back with no issues whatsoever. Sounds like the old school tractor that it is, and it's comfortable. The paintwork is fairly terrible, and I intend to do absolutely nothing about it.

All in all, very happy with it!

I reckon you did pretty well for the money. I had a P-reg 1.9 TD turn up local last year so went to have a look. The guy wanted £400 and was quite upbeat about the condition saying he had all the necessary work done on it and really kept on top of it. I was optimistic. Then I saw it.. Front wings were half fibreglass. He finished off the fibreglass repairs with some ace rattle can painting in not quite the right shade of navy blue. Same story on sills except to be fair they had been welded up ok. The steering was off so bad the steering wheel was at about 80 degrees off centre. Oh and it had the heaviest clutch in history. It had 2 months MOT on it. This looks factory fresh in comparison. I bet it goes in a straight line too! Not wanting to offend the rather nice chap I said it might not hold up too well me driving it 200 miles per week and politely said I would have to turn it down.

Just the picture. That said, the headlights are actually very good.

Fair enough!

Is it bad I can tell you were moving a bus with a Northern Counties Palatine II body?

Not at all! It was a Volvo Olympian, S677 AAE to be exact.

Liking the pics, the bus one at the start has oodles of atmopshere. Xant looks ace!

O.T.

Why are X's sometimes pronounced as Z's?

It really should be pronounced "Exantia". Which sounds more like a Star Trek pleasure planet.

Had a quick look at this earlier on. Apart from the obvious paint defects, this looks like a sound old thing.

Last seen accelerating away from me at the lights, heading for Cornwall.

It doesn't accelerate, it accumulates momentum.

In my defence, the Xant had a head start!
