Berlingo XUD9TE project (Y THO?)

If you get an XUD with a Lucas pump, at least it's a running engine for now. You can then source a Bosch pump (and injectors) later and swap it.

Don't DW8 engines get ring gumming on veg? Did I dream that?

They shouldn't, the combustion chamber is similar to an X/TUD.

I've just spoken to the seller on the phone, he seems alright but I can't collect it til next weekend.

Where is it?

Be good to meet you, and lend a hand.

You're welcome to point and laugh while me and Richard attempt an engine swap but it's not local for him or you.

Perth? Aye, not exactly local to me.

Put that gorgeous* Xsara on the road and modify the broken Blingo into its trailer. Obvious, innit?

That way you only carry a load of spare air around when you need to, like for the ten pallet trip.

Xsara = many Autoshite points, nearly as many as homemade Blingo trailer.

It'll work with the Lucas XUD injectors. I did that for a bit before swapping to Bosch injectors.

Our Will might have some injectors.

Bosch him a pm.

I wonder if it's possible to put TD injector nozzles in the DW8 injector bodies. This cheap and easy engine swap is getting quite convoluted and expensive.

I have a bosch pump, lines and injectors in my shed.

Slightly juiced up as well.

P.M me.

Why? I thought you were putting the entire XUD engine in? Why are you pissing about with any DW8 parts?

To get the right injectors and nozzles for a Bosch pump.

There was an MOT-less one owner Bosch FLAVA 306TD on Gumtree round here the other week. It looked alright but was hopelessly over-priced, had fancied it for the same reason as you LP, but it was just too expensive to bother. Could you shoehorn a 2.1TD in for shits and giggles?

No reason why not, but I think there's a bit more fannying about with driveshafts. It's hard to find a fully mechanical pump 2.1 as well, most of them are Lucas EPIC.

They will run a bosch mechanical pump no problem.

And lots of boost.

Pretty sure you can put a 306 gearbag on as well.

Now we're getting somewhere. 2.1td Bosch pumped lingo with ALLTEHBOOST

I think even a standard 1.9TD will be nippy in a Berlingo. With a Bosch pump and tweaks, even more so.

SPEED MACHINE.

Fuck that for a lark, those things feel nearly as dangerous as C15 with a N/A dizzer

I believe Shetland hire Berlingos can get within 30k of the speed in that video.

The NHS had one lingo with a turbo in Derby a few years ago, that could also get within 30k of that video's speed. Felt totally unsafe doing it mind.

I can confirm that a HDi Berlingo can achieve 180km/h on a slightly downhill section of the A1(M) autobahn near Das Leeds.

Allegedly.

C15 n/a feels totally* safe at all speeds and corners

I ragged mine (contribution to its downfall maybe) and it just felt like a slightly top heavy 306 to drive. Safe and secure.
