4 x Renault 20 TX Amil alloys £150 - Roffle ticket anyone @ £5 ??

Hi folks, I've had a change of heart about these alloys I have for my Renault 20 TS, I've decided it's better to be a purist and go for refurbing the steel wheels on mine, as opposed to giving it the TX look! It's a head, not heart decision though......

If anyone has a TX, they will know that these are rare as hen's teeth - consequentially, I've seen these sell for huge amounts, however these need a good refurb, so anybody know anyone who'd be interested at £150 the set?

The above price is to a shiter only - I have advertised them for more elsewhere. I am pretty sad about selling these, as they are from my dad's old car. However it is the sensible thing to do for the greater good and continuation of the TS restoration project.

OMG TRX!

They are absolutely awesome - best tread patterns ever -  and can be expensive to replace if you go to Michelin direct. However Avon and Colway do their own versions that fit, and there are plenty of genuine Michelin TRX on ebay at reasonable prices.

Roffle @ £5 a head anyone? Proceeds to a great (shite) cause - R20 TS restoration!

I'm all for a roffle, but I think in this case you're probably gonna struggle to find 59 people with a need for these wheels..

What fitment are they ie stud pattern, size, offset? Are they metrics?

All I know is that they are metric Amil alloys, made in Belgium, tyre size has a funny '390' at the end. Only wheel that will fit on a 20 TX. PCD is very very unusual, and gap between the wheel nuts is colossal!

No, I don't suppose anybody actually needs them, I just thought it would be a bit of fun having a Roffle with such a bizarre prize, and I am trying to raise welding money for the 20!

Let's get the daftest Roffle ever going - who will be first to take a number?

:-D

Are there 30 Renner 30s left on the road to roffle these for?

They're a mad pcd aren't they? The 604 Alloys were 4x140 I think. Shared with the Subaru Brat and bugger all else.

No. But don't these also fit a Tagora?

190/65 HR 390 it  is what fits.

That's the one, I couldn't remember off hand!

I remember my Father wrecking one of these when he couldn't change a puncture. The bill was absolutely eye watering - £500 (in 1991) plus Vat and labour. The only other option was to weld new wheel studs on, but overall no cheaper when 4 new wheels and all the labour taken into account!

noooo we dont share tyre sizes with Benz, BMW, Renault and other such low folk. Tagora SX exclusively got 210/65 TR 365 !

There it is again, that weird 3 digit number at the end - is this because they're metrics?

How many left reckons that there 25 Renault 20s left.

I'd be amazed if there's half a dozen actually running and on the roads though. What happened to that nutty guy 20TX? Bet he'd want these!

yes 4x140 is 504, 604, 505, Tagora.

R 20/30 is 4x112

What size where the TRX tyres that Ford fitted to the Mk2 Granada?

Posted

Will they fit a Laguna II?

I don't know what they would fit, except I once saw a Renault Master van sporting a set! Best to look up the PCD I suppose, but maybe someone else on here knows? Personally, I would have them restored, and use them for special occasions/shows.

Yes Grannys also used 190's so if they've got a bit of tread that and £4 a wheel for scrap ally, could mean serious* profit.

Those Renault logos are just standard centre caps, so I'd replace that with Ford ones myself, instead of scrapping the alloy!

59 x £5 = £295 . Don't you want £150 for them? You'd have much more chance selling 59 £2.50 tickets.

You might be better going for the thunder ball. One in fourteen chances for the punter and you might have more chance finding 14 people willing to gamble a 10 spot at good odds than 59 folk prepared to fork out money for a chance to own these rare curiosities.

I'm sorry to say, but those wheels are worth weigh-in value only

I think it's all subjective, wasn't there someone on here a few years ago with a 20TX that had to be taken off the road due to a cracked rim?

Your going to struggle to find an owner on here. Stick them on the Renault owners club or ebay offering international postage and see if you get any takers from Europe.

Somewhere in this pile ( temporary, whilst we rebuild the racking in the shed) is a set of immaculate identical TX Amil Renault rims with brand new metric tyres.

Bought because 'I might' own one, one day - a speculative purchase- like most of the pile!

You don't want to know what I paid for them, very very little, but I still haven't found a use.

Maybe, one day..

They look effin great on the car, maybe I will keep them if some cheap TRX tyres come available on ebay.
