Nice parking. I couldn't work out how the Kia driver could get out without clambering over to the passengers side...until I noticed the French plates.

One for the grin thread rather than its own, still funny though!  I see this often with modern ££££ 4x4's when I occasionally go to Waitrose.

When someone has double-parked like that, I usually make a point and park in the space next to it ... really close.

One of the fun things about owning an old shed is parking really close to those who can't keep a straight line. I have watched from a distance before as the owner returns and has to get in across the passenger seat

I just say fek it and take 3 spaces when I park the van at Waitrose, means I'm guaranteed to be able to reverse out and it's not hanging out 2 or 3 ft into the road, obviously finding the required 3 spaces is a little trickier...

Are you allowed to shop at waitrose if you drive a van?

if you drive a Mercedes van, obviously ....!!!

What's really happening here is the inverse ratio of parking space to ever-increasing bloating of the average universal modern automobile.   It is the opposite situation to that which existed in the States in the 1980s when parking slots were Bel-Air sized and everybody started driving Sentras and Corollas.    They probably now wish they had kept the land-yacht berths.

People still can't park/don't care though.....

The back lights at the bottom of those Kias always make me think of Impulse engines.

I had a tannoy announcement for me in waitrose Sunningdale once. I'd parked dead in the centr of my space in my C5, but happened to be 1" from the car next to it which was a foot over the line like that bmw above. I was only a minute or two as I only wanted a pint of milk and a baguette but the woman driver was livid. I was very calm and politely told her she should learn to park.

I'd have made sure that I got my free coffee and emptied my bowels before I answered that call...

They're not racist they'll take money from us Northerners too.

I didn't actually go to the reception desk. I happened to be checking out at the time and was talking with the lovely ( in a grandma way) lady on the till who I'd spoken to for years when the call came over. I said, oh that's me I wonder what's the matter. Paid walked out and to the car. It was in one of the hate it phases of c5 ownership ( owners will be familiar) and was quite happy to wipe it down the side of said dozy Trollop's 4x4. Though why she couldn't get in the passenger side I don't know.

I don't go to Sunningdale any more because of the parking, they now have a brand new huge waitrose a mile away in Bagshot with a virtually empty car park.
