Painting a bonnet - anyone want to?

Recommended Posts

The doggy Golf has a bonnet that needs painting. The clear coat has lifted in several places and it looks shit. It is a different shade of red to the rest of the car too.

Am happy to sand the fecker down but I wondered if anyone was able/willing to paint it for me?

Just to clarify, it is base coat and then clear coated.

Can't seem to find a bonnet in the correct red either.

Cheers

Do like Bam Majara did on MTV and have a prostitute posing on the bonnet done in air spray. Alternatively they have HVLP sprayers in Lidl at the moment £40. Bit of practice and you might be surprised!

Have seen a few cars with the painty lace thing over the years,

It'd be interesting but seeing as the car is otherwise stock externally............ it wouldn't quite gel.

Its a golf. You can be individual with it mate!

The most individual thing to do with a golf is leave it standard it seems.

Guy in the Capri Club has a 'photo >> *exposed' onto his bonnet, of a 2.8i engine.

* by exposed I mean 'chemical developed/darkroom way'- not vinyl :)

Drive it to Cornwall for some extra scene tax

The scene kids in Cornwall drive <5 year old squeaky clean T5 vans these days, it would appear. Bank of mummy and daddy, or massive loans?
