More time off Shennanigans

I very rarely take a week off from work and now I know why.

My last week off in March/April I ended up picking up the Rover 25 from KruJoe and the now RobT Senator that I had bought on eBay.

There are three cars on the radar that I need to get my arse into gear and collect, I've procrastinated enough and been delayed with other things going on, but today it's time to make a start.

Some of you may remember this that I recently had for sale..

Which is transport for leg 1!

We have fuel and currently covered about 80miles, just stopped for a pee break at Ferrybridge!

Lack of pics due to absolutely horrendous traffic but deal done and on my way back....

I guess you need to make space for the Winner Wagon somehow...

Services achieved, I've missed this little car.

We seem to be having a bit of a cutting out problem at idle so that will need looking at, I've now perfected the 'knock it into neutral, left foot brake whilst keeping the revs on' technique for the traffic I've been stuck in.

Ah, I filled the dashpot when I first got the car as it was empty. The idle may need a small increase.

However, I imagine you have no flat bladed screwdriver to adjust this.

Which one mate? The small screw set into the carb itself, the one that looks like it holds the carb together? Or the sticky out one on the side that moves on a spindle? Hope that makes sense.

Now. What to do with a dark green, Audi A4 diesel that slurps veg?

I'd never get into the flipping thing. TR7 that is.

That's ok, I am happy to collect it and look after it for you :-)

13 hours later and I'm eventually home drinking beer.

The drive back was a bloody nightmare from start to finish, but I'm happy to have the little Triumph back, although the drive back has had me contemplating a full respray on her over the winter time...

Thinking of resprays and I am having very naughty thoughts over a particular colour. I think Google has confirmed it ...

They do look super in orange, it's true but they also look great in that powder blue.  It leaves you with only one option, really.

What's the deal with the veg slurping diesel?

I'm after a 1.9tdi for... reasons...

I've had an Audi diesel before, it didn't end well. Like my relationship with pretty much anything/everything VAG.

The  veg slurper, whilst a very worthy vehicle, does not quite fit in with my plans. I will tidy it slightly (new gear lever gaiter, gear knob and a new rear plate) and then move it on.

I'd be looking at £450 for it or even a straight swap for 'something' undefinable. No. Not an AX :)

Has MOT till April 2017 and recently John achieved 300 odd miles on 30 quids worth of diesel. It's had a new MAF, tyres and is in good mechanical order, albeit it a little tired paintwise in areas.

John, that is not naughty at all. I know that orange Tolly very well. It is a beauty and I would do that in a heartbeat. Al has a vinyl wrap on the roof made up from his fave album covers. It looks brilliant. The interior is non-standard and was ace. He'd removed the rear seats when I last saw it.

JUST DO IT!

I will be visiting my body shop later today for a quote and a timescale for the work. I can then put a plan together for when the respray will take place.

The prep will all be done by me with just the paint and lacquer being done by a body shop to make the work more cost effective. A long, laborious job but will be worth it.

The car is fairly small and shouldn't take a huge amount of time. Hopefully the bumper bolts will undo ok, the front one's can be a bit fiddly to get to. Rimmer Bros do the brightwork clips, so no hassle there.

Look forward to seeing this!!!!!

There was someone on here trying to get rid of a Blue AX, you could swap it with that ;-)

The original, 'original' colour of the Tolly was possibly powder blue. Hard to tell as only small bits were showing.

My Caddy has been brilliant, 16k hard mile s on veg.

The Triumph is lovely by the way, one of the best looking cars of the era.
