Wanted Urgent - Sierra Mk1 hazard/indicator switch required.

As above, EssDeeWon, RobT and myself took this apart earlier to reveal the reason the hazards and indicators are so random. The hazard switch is broken and is always live, plus the whole thing is corroded to fuck.

Believed to be the same as the Mk3 Escort and Mk2 Fiesta. Anyone?

They are different.

That Sierra one is for a Ghia with the centre horn push or a mk2. Lower spec Sierras had the horn on the indicator stalk

Yeah I think Felly is right. It looks like that Mk3 Escort one.

Leave it with me, my mate is pretty sure he has one in his lock up that you can have, it's just finding it... He's currently down there looking for it.

 

He said they are unique to the base models with the orange bit on them.

Just for future reference, Ford part numbers of that era start with the year they were first used.

 

So 81 blah blah would be mk3 Escort

83 blah blah would be Sierra

Not surprised to hear it was live, when I connected the battery something was ticking away like a mofo, quite worrying! Not surprised it's had it either, I did suggest to Angry Dicky it might be something fixable but obviously not. Will keep an eye on the bay.

The Transit one does look very similar, assuming it has the same connection onto the plug it should do the job if the correct item can't be found. Hopefully Trigger's mate will find one!

The Transit stalk is a good few inches bigger (fnarr) and would look massively out of place

A Mk2 fiesta one will physically fit and work, i have used one on a low model sierra in the past, you just can't put the column plastics on, i then used the innards to repair the sierra one that broke
