Angrydicky Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 As above, EssDeeWon, RobT and myself took this apart earlier to reveal the reason the hazards and indicators are so random. The hazard switch is broken and is always live, plus the whole thing is corroded to fuck.Believed to be the same as the Mk3 Escort and Mk2 Fiesta. Anyone?
Guest Hooli Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Mk3 Escort http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ford-escort-mk3-indicator-and-hazard-light-switch-/381667269441?hash=item58dd245b41:g:G0EAAOSwubRXDpN3 Mk1 Sierra http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ford-sierra-mk1-indicator-hazard-switch-/381668554748?hash=item58dd37f7fc:g:5OAAAOSwAoRXFn-R They are different.
Felly Magic Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 That Sierra one is for a Ghia with the centre horn push or a mk2. Lower spec Sierras had the horn on the indicator stalk
Angrydicky Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Yeah I think Felly is right. It looks like that Mk3 Escort one.
egg Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 This link suggests part number: 83BG 13B302 BA http://www.fordopedia.org/parts-catalog/sierra-mk1/H1.10 The escort one on ebay is 81A 13B302 AA. Might work? Angrydicky 1
danthecapriman Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Brand new genuine Ford,http://www.motomobil.com/switch-turn-signal-with-horn-push-button,3237,60964030-1.htmlCertainly not cheap and it's in Germany. And a used one from the same place, no pic though.http://www.motomobil.com/switch-turn-signal-with-horn-push-button,3237,60964031-1.htmlNot exactly cheap either but less than the new one.
AlabamaShrimp Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Mk2 Fiesta won't fit as the plug bit is different and the hazard switch is round
Pillock Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Ford Transit 1991-2000?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-TRANSIT-1995-2000-STEERING-COLUMN-SWITCH-STALK-INDICATOR-/111668934149
Angrydicky Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 It's exactly the same as this: With this connection: Anyone have one?
trigger Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Leave it with me, my mate is pretty sure he has one in his lock up that you can have, it's just finding it... He's currently down there looking for it. He said they are unique to the base models with the orange bit on them. Angrydicky, RobT and Skizzer 3
Timewaster Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Just for future reference, Ford part numbers of that era start with the year they were first used. So 81 blah blah would be mk3 Escort 83 blah blah would be Sierra Hope that helps.
Parky Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Not surprised to hear it was live, when I connected the battery something was ticking away like a mofo, quite worrying! Not surprised it's had it either, I did suggest to Angry Dicky it might be something fixable but obviously not. Will keep an eye on the bay. Angrydicky 1
Angrydicky Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 The Transit one does look very similar, assuming it has the same connection onto the plug it should do the job if the correct item can't be found. Hopefully Trigger's mate will find one! trigger 1
Felly Magic Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 The Transit stalk is a good few inches bigger (fnarr) and would look massively out of place Angrydicky 1
AlabamaShrimp Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Can't it be taken apart and fixed or use bits from a similar one?
trigger Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Cortinaboy (with the blue Marina) has come up trumps! Skizzer, danthecapriman, nacho man and 17 others 20
Angrydicky Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Ooooh! Bloody fantastic! I'll get in touch with him immediately. Thanks everyone for your help!
fatharris Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 AutoShite to the rescue, happy days! Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
TRW Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 If Trigger hadn't come up trumps get hold of Stixy and/or Fenland Ford Spares.
Parky Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Great stuff Cortinaboy! Cor, all coming together nicely, great effort everyone! cortinaboy 1
fordperv Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Mk2 Fiesta won't fit as the plug bit is different and the hazard switch is roundA Mk2 fiesta one will physically fit and work, i have used one on a low model sierra in the past, you just can't put the column plastics on, i then used the innards to repair the sierra one that broke
