It's a 2.3 manual 240 glt, long mot, service history and v5 present. It's not perfect, since using it daily, scratches and scuffs on the bumpers  have appeared .

It's a good running car but I'm just not feeling it at the moment.

£900

I bought this a couple of months ago from Wilsonx2, The V5 never turned up and I haven't applied for another one yet. Mot is measured in weeks. 23 of June I think.

It goes well, the cv joints need replaced but I have a pair sitting here.

£250?

Lets try this again...

The chance of buying one of my dream cars has come up and in a bid to raise some funds I'm trying to sell some cars. First up is my 240 glt.

2.3l manual

169k miles

mot March 2017

Service history

We'll start with the bad bits, the photos flatter it, there are various scratches on the paintwork which may polish out, the bumpers are scuffed in places and the front bumper has been repaired in the past. Missing mudflap on the rear

There's a hockey stick missing on the rear. The drivers seat has been replaced with blue cloth, the rest is beige leather. the drivers side front wing has been touched up after a scrape which is only really noticeable if you look for it.

There's a bit of play in the steering which is noticeable on very bumpy roads. The only rust I can see is surface rust at the bottom of one of the rear wheel arches and some slight bubbling on the bottom of the rear screen.

The good bits

The engine is smooth with plenty of torque, it's a great big barge to run around in and has never let me down, it handles reasonably well on stock suspension. Electric windows and sunroof work, the central locking works on everything apart from the passenger front door. There's a tow bar fitted and the electrics are working. The rear shocks can be made stiffer using a valve located in the boot.

Overall it's in good condition with no terminal rot, it won't require welding anytime soon.

I've used the car sporadically over the last year and it has been a reliable old bus and covered 2k miles with ease.

I'm after £900 for it which I think is fair considering some people seem to think 240 values are on the up, The car does have its faults which I have listed in detail and could be rectified over the course of a weekend if you were inclined to do so.

The Volvo is a bargain at that price. The 309 is another example of a car that I would like to sample at some point.

Oh for a decent Lotto win. I'd buy all the stuff on here at the moment, some ace stuff. I'd then buy a hanger and put them all on display. An Autoshite Museum, but one where you could drive the exhibits :)

:)

309s are WIN. Although I think when I had mine, all I seemed to do was replace CV joints and boots.
