1988 car...can i run with one external mirror

so some ringpeice kicked off my passenger mirror , i noticed vw make blanking plates so got one of them so theres no longer a mirror to kick off 

 

is it legal /mot able to not have a passenger mirror on a 88 car ?

Should be fine. Think 2CVs had only one external mirror as standard right up until the end in 1990.

iirc you need to have two mirrors.  one of those can be the interior rear view mirror though :-)

yeah ok nice one...i have the standard rear view and drivers side one

 

just didnt wana put another one on to get damaged , plus now i feel like a scenester having a modded whip

Pre 1978 you need one mirror, either offside, nearside or rear view.

Post 1978 you need minimum two mirrors, one of them must be the offside wing mirror and the other can be either nearside or rear view.

As above. Lotus were selling a version of the Elise with no near side mirror not all that long ago.

Passenger mirror was an option on base models with reliant till 1998,tho tricycle regs may be different.
