The Toyota Will has always been a Styling exersize not a mainstream model, made just for the hell of it. No-one is expected to love them. My favourite is the Darth Vader model with it's hooded red eyes at the rear at night .

The Sanyong has been ridiculed by everyone who has not travelled in one !

Does anyone else see 2CV influences in that?

Yes, in the doors and roof curve. It doesn't look as odd or ugly now as it did first time I viewed the thread. The brain's a weird thing.

I agree the 5GT is pretty hideous...until you actually drive one. They're surprisingly good to drive and insanely practical

A special mention to all the tuners who managed to make it 20% fuglyer in 10 seconds flat!

I like fugly cars. Here's one I had forgotten about - Subaru Tribeca. I want one.

Agreed. They're all growing on me, with the exception of the Rodius, I must admit. Oh and I'd forgotten about the Pugs, but I guess that's pretty normal.

Don't care how ugly this is. I definitely would

I was very tempted to post that along with the Cayenne, but the reason I never was because like you...I totally would have one!

I wheeled this one out last time we had an ugly car thread. I have no idea what it was but it had an Escort engine and Morris suspension. Unfortunatly it didn't have a chassis number and the DVLA said it would have to have an SVA unless I could find some details to prove it had been registered. At that point I gave up and punted it on.

I give you the BMW 5GT

Or a BMW X6

You've managed to find pictures of both of them that are actually quite flattering, well, to my eyes anyway.

Although a 5 GT could well find its way onto my drive one day as I think it would be perfect as a work car, they don't half keep their value compared to a 5 or 7. Rarity I suppose, caused by perceived ugliness.

50 large for that Volvo, saw one in a pop up showroom at the weekend, I think it looks cracking. If the 345 is your ceteris paribus then this new thing is a beauty.

I spent quite a lot of time yesterday just looking at an E-Type. Art on wheels. You're a strange fellow Junkman.

To avoid turning this into another All moderns etc, I shall suggest the Singer SM1500. You'll have to find a pic yourself though. Soz.

The V12 looks OK, the rest, to my mind, looks like a cock on four [undersized] wheels.............chacun a son gout, I suppose..................

The E-Type is a perfect example of how you can't generalise, specific model, colour, wheels even the setting in which you see it or its photographed in can make all the difference.

To go all a bit Swiss Tony , I find its the same with women, although not so much the wheels bit.

One for JM- Nah, he's a contrary fecker, he won't like it on principle.

Moral of the story: don't fire Pininfarina when your own styling team are clearly rubbish.

I see your Peugeots and raise you the one with the ugly back.

I think it's pretty obvious that the 2CV and the Ami 6 were heavily influencing the WiLL Vi (sic).

That whole WiLL thing is actually quite interesting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WiLL

I own two of the cars that inspired the WiLL. I can only apologise, folks.

This looks like a holothurian on heat.

I had to look this up, the first time I've had to look a word written about cars up since I was about 12 .

Its a shame that Renault messed this one up so much, at the time it was deemed ugly and it hasn't improved with time at all

When I worked in the States a colleague had a Pontiac Aztek. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. How could it even reach the drawing board?  Have a flattering press shot:

The Multipla is one of those cars that were shockingly fugly when first introduced but now just look completely ordinary (see also Mk1 Focus).

I don't get the Rodius bashing either, it's a chuffing oil painting compared to ridiculous, comparably big-selling stuff like the Nissan Cube and it's certainly not the most gopping SsangYong ever produced...
