Rover 75 auto v6 £250

Need this gone as not getting the use now ive landed a 70k one owner 45 td.

So what is it? It's a W-reg Rover 75 2.0 Club automatic in Pewter with Smokestone Grey velour trim. It's got about 130000 miles, and according to the service indicator the next one isn't due for about 6500 miles. Barring a couple of dents on the nearside rear door and a fag burn on the driver's seat, it's in fairly straight order - a bit of lacquer peel on the bonnet is the only other whinge I can find. It could do with a new rear plate, but I have got a properly shaped one to fit and will be doing so before it goes.

It does have issues - The gearbox inhibitor switch was a bit iffy when i bought it, but it's started behaving again. Has had rebuilt starter and a set of coil packs this week. There's no radio in it, but it's got a plate to convert it to DIN so anything'll fit. But it's rot free as far as I can see, presents well.

What this represents is a very good basis for a 75 project. With a little work you'd have a solid, reliable, pre Project-Drive car in a nice colour scheme, in need of a little love perhaps but certainly usable and saveable. Needs a battery and has slight mis fire when cold. Service kit in boot belts done with proof.

Mot til december

Oh jeepers. That really is tempting. Especially as I've just had my bank account topped up with ROFFLE monies.

I dare say most shiters can probably see past it but '1 steel wheel and reg plate missing' is not a good look for a car you wanna sell, it looks like it belongs in a salvage yard

Alloy is in boot the valve has failed and reg plate was ripped off when i came home yesterday morning :(

But its a proper 75 smiley plate in the back window so all is forgiven

Must not buy a Rover V6, the insurance will probably be £2500 for me :(

I ran one when I was n-n-n-n-n-nineteen and insurance wasn't bad, this was in ye olde days of a decade ago though.

I'm out. Can't make the insurance work. No, I don't want to pay over £600! Got it down to £213 elsewhere, but still more than I'm willing to pay. Rubbish.

I'll be kicking myself about this in years to come. Lowly power, auto, cloth seats. Perfick.

That's my problem too. NCD is currently being used by the Nippa. Current insurer won't cover the Rover as a classic, so I tried elsewhere, but they still wanted £213, even with a 5000 mileage restriction. That was a classic policy though.

I got quoted £1900.............I'm 31, but have 0 claims on my own.

Flipping hell, where do you live, Aleppo?

Only been driving for just over 4 years. :(

My previous cars may or may not have been in other people's name and me as named driver...

The real reason those numberplates are that shape, they look QUAL when they're in the corner of the window. Like some sort of dealer sash thing saying "ONE OWNER" or "FIVE SPEED"

PBIS do it under classic.

They do. I'm struggling to justify another £214 on top of my annual insurance bill though. S'pose I could get a quote for the whole fleet, but I'm only four months into my current policy. While there's still Prelude money in my account though, I'll keep thinking it through...
