What's the current approved forum etiquette please?

As for clues, it's yellow and the bodywork is made up of 50% metal and 50% rust.

Do you know what it is yet?

Actually cinqs arnt bad rot wise in general. What about a late 90s sporty Merc ?

My first thought was Cinq sporting too!

In answer to the OP, I don't know the correct etiquette but I reckon build up some suspense, give us some clues, then plenty of pictures on the way. Good luck.

Might be mine. The description is right enough.

Datsun 100A FII?

Not that it matters, ISIS will thwart your collection plans by jamming suicide 20p pieces in your handbrake.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong and totally wrong.

It's German and on an A plate, thus 1984 vintage.

Scirocco?

Collection is from Maidenhead, 6.6 miles from my home postcode. I'm prepared to take my chances with ISIS although it's 50/50 whether I come across a suicide bomber going over Cookham bridge.

320touring is tonight's big winner!

A few weeks ago a work mate tipped me off about an old W123 parked up close to his gaff. By the looks of it, the old Merc hasn't moved for years. I put a cheeky note through the door saying that I'm happy to take it away gratis. A few days later the owner called me, we talked for 20 mins about old cars (he was a really nice bloke to talk to) but my best offer of £200 was rejected. Matey wanted a monkey for it and I said no way.

Out of the blue, matey calls me this afternoon and says that I can have the car for £200 providing that I collect by tomorrow 5pm. He moved the Merc (towed it behind a Toyota estate) to another location last week but it needs moving again urgently. Good news is that brakes are free and it rolls.

I've booked a recovery truck, £80 all in. The driver's name is Mohammed so there might be ISIS content after all. I'm collecting tomorrow at 4:30pm.

The plan is to park it outside my house (and de-value the entire neighbourhood) and once the weather improves, strip it for parts. It's a 230E manual, same as my W123 and bonnet badge and driver's door glass aside it's complete. In parts it's worth ££££ and the owner assures me that it was a runner before he parked it up. I love stripping old cars and taking the total expenditure aside (£280), I can't go wrong. The body is so rotten that it's only good for spares.

Trouble is, I've arranged to MoT the Boxster tomorrow at 2:15pm in Harrow and I have to be in Maidenhead for 4:30pm to collect the Merc. It's gonna be a long day.

Some panels are better than others.

Seats and carpets will be fucked but everything plastic will clean up and can be salvaged.

When we first spoke I told matey that if he wants to sell I'm happy to hand over two hundred quid.

I'm a man of my word and when the seller phoned me today I confirmed that I'll stand by my offer. I'm nice like that.
