That's quality. Tempted to buy it, drag the snotter back to rainy Cornwall, park it in the drive and let the mother-in-law know that we've sorted some private accommodation for when she next visits.

*Scrap the driveway bit. The more I think about it, the more I reckon I tow into straight into the Cornish waters, stick it on a mooring on a nice estuary, and charge Laaandan money to city types to stay in Cornish luxury.

If ever there was a truly Shite caravan, or boat, that's both of them!  Get it bought!  There'll be a long long queue to sleep in it at Shitefest!

It's at £500 and it's got 5 days to go. I predict it's going to go for a princely sum.

My Father nearly bought one of these in 1975 but was persuaded, by My Mother and many others to play safe and buy a conventional Sprite type caravan, apparently, aged 3 I very nearly froze to death in said Caravan somewhere near Morecambe;  Easter weekend of the same year, I don't remember anything about it but apparently my teeth chattering woke my Mother who discovering I had turned blue managed to revive me whilst screaming at my Dad to light the paraffin heater that came supplied with the Caravan but had the unfortunate habit of poisoning unfortunate inhabitants with carbon monoxide gas,

The Caravan seemed to disappear from our lives shortly afterwards.

As someone who delivered caravans and boats for 16 years I'm seriously wondering how much I might get for a few non vital organs. It was the highlight of my year spotting one on the canal last year, but to own one would be fantastic. The small matter of not having a tow car isn't really a problem as the canal is very close to my house! Now how does this crowd funding malarky work?

I just like the thought that at some point someone may have woken up after a heavy night and forgotten they were on the canal, not a field, when they got up in the morning.

That is really something, I don't suppose anyone has storage up for rent in the South Herts area?

The wording of the listing suggests a cash offer is the way to buy it, I guess a couple of grand might do, what an investment.

There are a numerous established ways to meet your end in a caravan, most popular being CO poisoning, murder, weaving your car out of control on a motorway, and now drowning. Imagine donning the full deck shoes and captains hat garb, wander the campsites looking like captain birdseye winking inappropriately at young ladies.

Captain Birdsfeet would need a parrot really. A small one that doesn't suffer from claustrophobia. Maybe a budgie with a deathwish.

I think I'm with Des here, this combines all the horrors of caravanning with the distinct possibility of drowning to boot.

Now how does this crowd funding malarky work?

I think it's a bit like a raffle, except nobody wins and you get too keep it all. Hardly fair if you ask me but we can make side bets on how many seconds it'll stay afloat after we push you into a canal in it.

Ironically I used to deliver the caravans that were star prizes to central tv at nottingham.  Unfortunately I had to pick most of them back up to after they weren't won. met Jim Bowen there and shock his hand, he didn't say super, smashing, great once though.

Well, maybe you should have done a more impressive job. Maybe reversed a caravan onto a bullseye target through a gap 2" wider than the caravan.

Place was a nightmare, had to reverse the truck with a caravan on a the towball up a curving ramp round the outside of the building, no option of going up forwards as no access through the door at the top into the studios. The caravans were supplied by a company called quality caravans in leicester.

Good job they didn't want 3 caravans or I would have had to have used my bigger truck!

I would sit in this all day, eating Caramac, listening to Caravan and polishing my Cararama 1:43 models, before dining richly on Crème Caramel.
