Protonshite... Daily duty.

The box came free. It was a right time right place kinda purchase, minutes from work and had to go as the place he had it stored was moving in the coming days.

I don't have any need for it, and I'm still enjoying that MG ZR I bought at the mo.

I'm sure you'll find a use for it, it's a nice sized box.

Well, aside from the scabby door, there's nothing really wrong here.

The car is fine, it's reasonably nippy, it's not noisy, it goes it stops, the tyres don't match in each corner but it starts and drives fine, doesn't overheat, has a small oil leak somewhere that doesn't spot when left over-night and I think it could use a new tyre on the spare, but honestly, that's all I can really fault it on.. that and the apparently non working RipSpeed CD player...

I taxed it last night after sticking it on my policy and took it out at Lunchtime in and around Corby, and there's nothing bad to report.. it's a bit choppy at low speed on bad road surfaces, but it's based on an old Mistubishi and the Lancer I used for a period was exactly the same, so I don't think there are any issues.

Does anyone want this before I chance it with a sign in the window or evilbay?

Figure it's gotta be worth £300 with the MOT on it?

Apart from all of Corby.

I occasionally come up with daft ideas which are way beyond my mechanical capabilities, and one of those ideas was buying a crashed Evo II and dropping the mechanicals into one of these.  The result would be quite fun I reckon.

1.8 litre beater.

I've not tried a Proton but I like early-mid 1990s Mitsubishis. Would love to find a super-rare Persona diesel.

There was a 2.0SDi on eBay about three weeks ago, it did enter my watchlist but the 68bhp powerhouse was outweighed by me not being able to license it as a minicab of tremendous misery and hatred.

I'd rock a 1.8SEi manual Persona or a Coupe no bother.

How big is the box?

I've left the keys at home, I'll measure it tomorrow ;).

Apart from all of Corby.

I drive up Rockingham hill, over a few roundabout and barely touch the place.. I live in Stamford, and that's lovely..  Corby is a place I work in.. it was awful 6 years ago when I worked here, and I've been told it's improved now.. I don't care, it's Corby.. I'm staying out unless it's work :).

How much for the box?

I've had a lot of interest, it's mega rare, I might sell that separately from the car for a billionty pounds.

As I said, it's gotta be worth about £300.

I'd take reasonable offers if I didn't have to do anything with it.

I think £80.00 with 5 months ticket is enough to motivate me to drive it to Stamford and park it on the roadside with a sign in the window, where I'd probably make the £300 to the first person who's kid has recently passed their test and is terrified of having his Mondeo TDCI smashed up in a McDonalds related incident.

You may be correct there. Money to be made still in cars. Never fortunes, just beer money.

Very nice by the way.

I chucked £20 of pez in this early and took it over from Corby to Market Harborough and back with no drama.  It could use the aux belts replacing, they squeal a bit and I suspect they've gone a bit hard with lack of use.

Other than that, it's fine.

Probably gonna move it to the workshop on Saturday/Sunday and put a sign in the window so passing village traffic can express some interest. :)

If that fails I'll move it to Stamford for a few days before chancing evilbay.

First fiver get the box too ;), it's a bit more battered than it looks in the pics, buyer collects, or I'll do a raffle for the box :P

Looks nice this, I'd drive one of these any day of the week

To be fair, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, that's not much of an endorsement!

Ha!!!! R9UKE described the interior of his as 'quite luxurious, if you are a recent escapee from a Turkish Prison'

I've needed a car with a bit of room to ferry folk around after the very recent death of my poor old nan , also had to help Pappa D as he's recovering from recent knee surgery.

It's been commendable to be fair, ice done about 70 miles in it, and aside from wanting an aux belt (might just want some tension on it), it's a dead good people and stuff mover.

I'm going to use it while I do the wheel bearings on my ZR, give it a service then stick a sign on it and bung it in the local rag

Looks canny that. Looks like someone's looked after it. They do look great in white.
