I can haz Volvo 850, aarrghh

My fleet is getting a bit out of hand, but after selling the Merc last year was also lacking an estate car. Yes the Aerodecks are sort of estate, but not really, the Tipo is actually more practical, but I digress. Due to the fact I have too many cars (like many on here) I have to try and justify purchases and my thing at the moment is anything I buy must be a potential keeper, and I can only justify one real estate car. I have spent weeks considering the options:

W123, classy and nice but not really a drivers car.

Renault Avantime, I do like them, but I don't think they're really me or an estate

Citroen CX, a damn big estate, but not really me. I liked my BX and XM but didn't love them.

Audi 100 c3 avant quattro, definitely on the list of estate cars I want, but not quite the top of the list.

Volvo 760 turbo, I do like these a lot and did seriosuly consider buying Mr Fowlers, but there was another Volvo I would prefer.

So what is it? As I grew up in the golden era of BTCC I was a fan of 2 drivers, Gabrieli Tarquini (I have an Alfa 155) and Rickard Rydell ... yes shite fans I'm off to collect a not hugely shite Volvo 850R. I can haz excited.

Bacon sandwich consumed, so now I am off to the bus stop for leg 1 of my 4 leg trip.

Sideways photos might be the order of the day as I'm not quite used to this phone yet.

Grantham station achieved. I now have 30 mins wait before leg 2 and the train to that London.

Annoyingly I am still about 4hrs away from Volvo :(

These stealth estates tick an awful lot of boxes for me too. Jealous! Is the R the 240bhp jobbie?

The sideways pics make this collection thread even more interesting ! Keep them coming !

Is the R the 240bhp jobbie?

Yes it is, unless its been chipped to 300 :o

It's also lower and a bit fancier than the standard T5.

They were upped to 250 bhp for the factory manual cars.

Flash is ok but Mrs Cylinder gold V70 T5 SE (240 bhp) is such a Q car!

Now I'm on proper internet I can answer your ICE question.

This is what it would have had from new.

This is what I have in mine. I think these were a cost option and they are very rare. I've not seen another for sale since I got mine.

and this is the one I've offered you.

All of these will plug straight in as long as the original wiring is present in the car.

Cheers for the info and the offer of the stereo Richard, what model is the black one with the cd and gold writing? It's very generous of you to offer the stereo but I'm being picky and want a black one.

At present the car is without stereo, so I will just have 5-pot and turbo to listen to on the way home.

Don't forget to pick up a stuffed labrador.

Or, failing that, one of those guide dogs collecting boxes you used to see outside supermarkets will do the job nicely.

Potters bar station, 10 mins to the end of leg 2, so half way there, yay.

The black one is the same model number as the grey one, SC-805. You need to look for one with the script, if you see a black one without the script it's a grey one with a bad photograph. They are different internally, the black ones are fussy about CD-Rs. The changers aren't at all fussy though.

I don't blame you for being picky, I was equally picky and never used the grey unit, but you might have to wait a while to find a black SC-805 at any price.

So, London has been and gone, after a hasty station change I am now on the train for Hastings, see:

I am actually going to be early, so have sent a message to the seller asking if he's available a bit earlier, if not I'll get lunch somewhere.

I now appear to be in Kent. I always thought they spoke French round here, but the inhabitants of the train appear to speak Polish, maybe they're tourists.

I'd go for the grey SC-805 Richard is offering if a black SC-805 isn't available. Volvo ICE sounds great, I think it's made by Alpine.

always liked these ovloVs. Me and the brother bought an 850 T5 once, but it wasnt an RRRRRR. I gave it back to the seller once I found it he'd sold it without telling my it burns LOTS of oil :/

Dutch Crown Jewels. Perfect. Apart from the fact that these weren't built in The Netherlands. Please buy a 480 and go and reshoot.
