Steel pipe - scrap bus exhaust, perhaps?

Pleased you're sorted, vulgalour. In the meantime you've made me wonder if stove pipe can be had almost for free from a coach/truck dismantlers, at least for the workshop.

Just when you think you've seen everything, you go and cop a pic of BMW lamps looking quite at home in cookware. I reckon Dali would be chuffed.

I'd love to see vulg on a cookery program "right folks you will need a pair of 17cm cake tins, here's a hole I cut earlier, set your welder to wire speed 7, power setting 2 and insert the tins into the holes and add liberal lashings of weld"

Cake tins

well that kind of pisses on my parade, i rolled a bit of sheet up for you at work last night

it still needs welding up and subsequent re-rounding - let me know if you are in need of it and i will finish it off ;)

That's incredibly generous of you, Mel!  Would you mind being my back-up plan in case the cake tins go wrong for some reason?  Also, a second set of tubes would be handy for the second pair of rear lights I fancy fitting.  More is more.

Pm'd.  I'm hoping to get into the unit to try this out tomorrow.  Updates, if any, will be over on the Princess thread.

tbh i believe Angyl and i were virtually acquainted by the blue forum, and i owe Angyl much mojo boost.

anyone else, i would probably have waited until desperation set in, before offering to help

This is how I remember Mel.  One of my early forays into automotive watercolours back in 2011.  That car has an epic tale but sadly not a happy ending if memory serves.

Hey @hairymel, I haven't been over on the blue forum for a long time now, have you got a new workspace sorted now? Last time I was a regular on there was around the Gathering that had the tat auction raising funds for melty Toyotas and lost garages.

Hope things have improved since!

On the plus side if you end up not needing any more then Mel can make some cake tins.

@ruffgeezer- I have been in my new workshop for about 2(!) years now and have another sunbeam shell awaiting some sort of effort being made

apart from having all our tools stolen a while ago all is good

I still get a warm feeling inside thinking about the efforts made by strangers to make things better for us after the fire.

@MikeKnight just lol :-D

In Aerospace terms that's NOT a pipe, it's a duct.

I'll probably regret this but... what's the difference?

I'm gonna guess at something to do with the length needing to be x times the diameter to be a pipe.
