How did it not end up with an age related plate?

Yeah I always wondered, think the age related should have the H at the end?

Think Eddy Fitz got it from the Dodge GURU in Nantwich, I sold it to "THE BLUES BROTHERS" in Crew.

Cartell recognises the plate as a Charger but its not on DVLA so possibly dead, plate change or exported?

Smoking around with 01 vinyls on the doors, cb hanging from the dash, and a mid to late forties owner wishing he could slide in through the open window aperture effortlessly.

That is really odd.  I've seen a few anomalies on Yanks imported before 1984 - but the prefixes introduced then included the Q which DVLA could (and did) use if unsure.  So, for example, I've seen at least one 57 Chevy with a V suffix, my mate's 1950s tractor was issued with a T suffix (in 1979) as it had never been previously registered - but I've never seen anything as late as an H (1990) prefix, especially as by then the age-related thing was going.  I wonder if someone at DVLA mixed up their prefix and suffix?

Maybe a foreigner bought it. HEAVENS

Be nice if it went back to the States

Broken for spares.

No way, Tim + Adrian (Ade since deceased) Blues Bros, would never have parted it out,it had 10months mot +free road tax, anyway it was an 8 1/2  out of 10 car ,bodywork was brill,I'd only fitted the set of chrome cragers +coopers 3weeks before after I got it back from Autopaint, this car was  a million miles away from being a "BASKET CASE",

Hang on while I give myself another boot :-(

That's a 70 model wwith the full chrome surround on the grille isn't it? My Challenger was a '72, but registered as a 78, got a form and got it dated as 72, so got free tax :)  No one on the MMA got it, or know where it is? They seem to have tabs on every Mopar in the UK.

I was going to suggest that might have happened.....probably worth more coin over there?

I definitely need to scratch the muscle car itch. The current Challenger is absolutely drop dead gorgeous, obviously in Hellcat spec.  (And I'd say the Challenger is the real successor to a '69/'70 Charger, because the modern Chargers are absolutely pants (I had a 6-pot from Hertz last year).

Only thing to say there is "IF" you got the dosh for a "NEW" Charger, get the V8 HEMI it's fast and apparently reliable, ask Sue from Southport or FAST-LADY  as she's known

Red HEMI CHARGER RT  + BLONDE owner driver =WOW,,,,,,,,,,believe Mr Ramrod has "SAT" in this partic car??

I haven't actually Phil; that's a pleasure yet to come!  We lived at opposite ends of Southport, so didn't know each other at all until she became the Local Rep.  It's still a bit of a shock to me that Southport is big enough to be able to say that, and I left 7 years ago!

Given the prices for these in the states I'd say it was quite possible it was exported.

New Hellcats are great and have the traditional virtues of muscle cars i.e. insane power and slightly wobbly handling.   The new GM offerings like the Z/28 Camaro are way too competent.

...or an 01 on the side and a Confederate flag on the roof?

Eddie Fitz (who I bought it off) was well to weird,he kitted it out with Sparco front racing seats + Simpson 4way s/belts,and the anti-tramp bars, and painted it satin black with black standard rims....looked mean as hell, but I already had 3 Chevy trucks ..46,50 + a 78 all satin black.

Just a thought....SATIN BLACK with 01 doors and Con=flag roof?????mmmmm 8)  8)

If you buy a model kit of the General Lee today, they've removed the Confederate flag. Times change, and it is now widely condemned in the US for reasons best not mentioned.

You could have welded the doors shut though.

I used to work at a Mopar shop, from which the "Dukes of Hazzard" producers had bought most of their Chargers. I believe he said they bought 30 of them over the show's run.

P.S. I know where there is one...in the same color orange...

I don't think that's correct.  It's been removed from the box artwork but the graphic is still with the kit.

Somebody on here needs to buy a challenger - my favourite muscle car.

My budget extends to a couple of matchbox ones.
