Ronald Mc_Bo11ox's LAGUNA ODYSSEY OMG FTP SOS ETC LOL

It's like one of those TV magicians where they start off juggling knives and then someone throws in two chainsaws, the Autoshite version is where someone starts off owning K Series Rovers and then someone throws in two Lagunas.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-RENAULT-LAGUNA-GT-16V-T-AUTO-GREEN-/172102726701

it's a 2.0 16v petrol turbo with an automatic box!!!!!!!

genuine 60k from new seemingly (unless it had a clocks change before its first MOT, not impossible admittedly), its all up and running but failed the MOT recently on some bushes and balljoints. Looks alright to me though. Paid £185, should be picking it up next weekend from Basingstoke

This I am gonna put red Laguna on the road for a while, maybe stick a fresh ticket on it then if its behaving itself I might sort the men from the boys with a LAGUNAROFL, after which blue can take over for a bit.

Most apt username ever - I'd only think you had bigger plums if it was the V6

Love it.

Top notch autoshiteing is this ennit, already has one Loghoona half rattling along so to make swift progress simply buy another and tie it all in with time on Ibiza.

There are some bargun wheels out there for when we are handy with spanners.

Mr Boll, you doo keep us entertained par excellaaance

You couldn't live more dangerously if you were a haemophiliac who kept excitable alligators for pets.

Laguna ownership, life on the edge for you, entertainment for us, it's a win - win situation.

Yet despite all the hilarity and unreliability, you can't deny the estate is a fine looking motor.

Make it work Mr B!!

Posted

Well done Mr B. Top rank shiting. Looking at the pics I thought it was a manual but zooming in on the gearshift markings on the ebay pic (am I sad or what ?) it does appear to be an auto. If it has the AL4 box you really are living life on the edge as it's the one with the built-in self destruct mechanism.  Look forward to reading the collection thread down through my area of the world.

So now you've brought a new one are u gonna get shut of the red one?

The AL4 is a masterpiece whose cutaway diagram is worthy of a place in the Louvre. The main problem is pressure variation that brings on the red light of death even when there's nothing* wrong* with it.

I *think* the turbo models have a Japanese box, the same as the 3.0v6? Might be wrong though.

Well. Good Luck with that...

Pretty certain this is correct. The DP0 (renault designation)/AL4 (PSA designation) had a bhp limit of 150bhp or something like that. Actually not that bad a box per say, just the installation of it in some models made it suffer - such as inadequate cooling - noticeable when towing, etc. Only 4 speeds too though.

The v6 definitely had the SU1 box - Asin Warner 55 in other speak. The F4Rt (FART LOL) in this appeared to have the PK6 (manual 6 speed) or SU1 (auto 5 speed) designated as F4Rt 764/F4Rt 765 respectively.

Watch out, as the SU1/AW55 box takes unicorn piss fluid, aka JWS 3309. Renault dealers and some tech literature refer to Dextron III (which is much cheaper), but this is only good for using in the DP0/AL4 boxes - putting it into a AW55 box will kill it pretty pronto.

Cheers SiC. I will keep an eye open for a cheap stash of unicorn piss as I think a fluid change might help the F4RT KARMA

I've seen this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-1x20-Liter-MANNOL-ATF-Multivehicle-Ol-Automatik-Getriebeol-/252228894931

Says its to JWS 3309 spec, but it looks far too cheap?!

Have seen some mentions of others using it on the PissHeads and some Vulva forums with success...

I was just about to post the same ATF

It claims to be Toyota T-IV and Honda Z1 compliant as well.

Prices from the German seller are really cheap.

You wussed out.

Anyone got big enough balls to take that one on?

1.9dci with 220k on the clock.

The only thing missing is that its a ) not an auto, b ) expression trim level, so one from bottom spec and hence less to break.

Just sorting out some trainz   to go and collect the 'blue laguna' this weekend  . I can't wait!!!!! F4RT P0W3R y0

I seem to have an enduring lust for a V6 one however, that shows no sign of going away even after 2-3 weeks of scouring the usual sites etc. I would get on the phone about that grey one on gumtree but it all just seems a little too much like an obsession, even by my standards. Unhealthy.

As much as I'd like to see what happens if you buy a V6, I'd say just have a serious think first about the optimum number of Laguna II's to own.

You may well find it's less than 3.

Not sure if you saw this one in the eBay thread: https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/renault-laguna-3-litre-v6-2001-02-450/1158465615

I recognise that (cause rear dent) from a year or 2 ago when I was looking at them last. Iirc it sold for like £250 odd on eBay.

The listing above has gone down a bit in the last few days.

I'M MASSIVELY TEMPTED. However I really want the phase 2 model (nicer interiors), but they're thin on the ground at the moment. I really need some ES9/L7X engined beast in my life right now.

Posted

Yeah that one looks quite nice, although really i think I'd prefer a hatch to an estate and ideally one with a bit more barmy interior colour!!!

Posted

Well I nearly have the one for you:

https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/laguna-tourer-initiale-v6-tiptronic/1156291399

Just doesn't tick the hatch box.

I like how the satnav thinks it's -19C outside.

2001 Initalie (top spec) - so will include the speaking computer!

I'd like a phase 2 estate - 55 reg (cause road tax) but don't think I'll see one up likely. There are 2 hatch phase2 about for sale, one broken the other silver. Tempted to go for a 120mile train trip to see the broken one. Risky tho. Also both are not (to me) throw away money prices.

I nearly bad mouthed a Laguna 2 this morning as he merrily cut infront of me on a roundabout.

Then I saw it was a Megane 'estate' of the same shape but smaller laguna estate and swore heartily at him, prick

It'll be the maximum £290 p/a.

How many others cars have an RFL in excess of the cars value?

That blue one is a STUNNAR, I would love it!!!!

+ 1111

He only needed to spell it as TRIPTRONIC for maximum shite points.

Best Gooner 2 is the pre FL Estate. Estate is prettier than the hatch and the facelift front end is a travesty.
