I can't believe I've just read all this. I expected a thread of hating lagunas and within a few pages you've come to love them. Madness.

I hate mine!

It was free & I was overcharged lol

Gotta book a garage (& I hate doing that) to make it work as I've gone as far as I can trying to make the poxy electrics work. Seems reno don't even put smoke in the wires, at least proper cars let the smoke out to find the fault.

WHAAAATTTTTTTTT!!!!!!1111111

:signs053:

How can I even respond to this, as I know its utter bullcrap?

No bids were in that 12 hr window, so he could have cancelled.

Also it certainly wasn't sold at 9pm last night...

:angry008:

I take my hat off to you for your patience dealing with this moron in the first place. Quite a few people would be rather less charitable than your good self.

Unfortunately he has the keys on one of the few Laguna ph2 v6 for sale on the country. I am not kinda desperate for one, so prepared to deal with more awkard people.

One thing I didn't mention is that at 9pm the night before I got a mate to eBay message him a quick question. I didn't want to message him myself as if no bids on the auction, I didn't want to look overly desperate in coming to a deal later. Anyway the seller answered the question and certainly didn't mention that it was sold then...

He did message me again about accepting his cancellation request. I've decided that I CBA to respond to his messages to be honest.

Got a stinking cold at the moment, which if my internet diagnosis is correct is the swine/man flu one going around. Which means any long distance collection is out of the question atm. :(

SiC you are endearingly mad in your quest for a Mk II Laguna, however for anyone to pay £500 a year tax for a Laguna they would have to be completely mad.

It looks the absolute 'cock & balls' - 06-plate phase 2 V6 initiale wagon with cream leather, but at £3500 purchase price and £500/yr tax its going to be sat there till Richard Branson gets bitten by the Gooner bug I think

It is a lot for tax, especially considering its roughly half its value every year in just being allowed to drive it on the road. But then I only run 2 to 3 cars - I'm sure there are many people spending more than that in total to the treasury in car tax!

Also now I've hit 30, my car insurance is pretty cheap and again, there are people on here spending double that just on car insurance per year for much slower & less powerful vehicles!

That's my man maths on it anyway...

In the next 5 years as these, now 10 yr old cars get cheaper, we'll see more people moaning about this tax. I predict 55plate versions that are high emitters to increase above the newer versions - I've seen this on the rx8 for instance. We could also start to loose a lot of the bigger engined + interesting stuff of this age because of it too. :(

He's also been advertising it for the last month or so with no pictures either! I honestly can't see how dealers can stay in business by pricing it so ridiculously. Surely they have a quick scan on the market first?

Perhaps he's just too used to what big engined German stuff is priced at and priced it accordingly. Even at half its current price, it will struggle to shift.

Spotted an 06 plate goona parked up near my pad.

Flat tyre, looks like it hasn't moved in a while.

I'll get the Reg.

Can't believe I'm noticing these things, never been remotely interested in Renners.

Ooooohhh thats a good colour, not seen one like that before

Sellers previously sold a few cars with a similar, but not identical 2 person description. Like you say, it's like 1 person wrote the CAPS and somebody else wrote the rest.

Cars don't come in that brown colour often, but when they do they always look fantastic.

Shame about the engine in it. The 2.2dci really isn't known for its longevity. Big end bearings, leaky & disintegrating manifolds, clogging egrs and exploding turbos are a few very common problems.

But I think most will just see high spec diesel and bid accordingly.

See some really high mileage 2.2s in Nissans....

The 2.2 in Primeras and Almeras is Nissan's own engine.

Link broken. Try this one below...

Looks like it didn't sell over the weekend. Hopefully most are scared off by the tax situation on this age.

[siC]: Do you want a weekend away up in York?

[very-soon-to-be-Mrs-SiC]: Does there happen to be a Laguna up there?

[siC]: Maaaaaybe...

Renault Laguna 3.0 V6 24v auto Initiale

This is what they should be priced at to be honest. Unfortunately this weekend I'm all booked out and won't be able to get a spare 7hrs for a round-trip (if no delays) to drive up norf.

*keeps fingers crossed that it doesn't sell over this weekend*

... Oh, as its 06 reg, not 55reg (or older), its £500 per year or £44 per month. Ouch!!!! This looks like the one compromise on it that I will have to make.

Considering that I'd be negging the previous seller for not going through with the sale.

I'd also then buy the car if you can get it for less than last time, and then sending the seller a smug message for being a dick.

For the gentleman on a slightly tighter budget...

Dephaser costs £80 alone..... I assume it's a shitty second hand one that is included though
